The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Dwarf Fortress finally releasing on a digital platforms

    I thought they'd never do it, but the Adams' are finally releasing Dwarf Fortress (AKA Slaves to Armok: God of Blood Chapter II: Dwarf Fortress) on Steam and Itch.io sometime in the future with an official tile set. According to them the free version is NOT IN DANGER, but there's so many hours of fun to be had it's definitely worth the price of a donation or purchasing it on one of those platforms. It would be nice to see it get a huge uptake on Steam or something just to show how popular these type of indies can be.

    Unfortunately, the main reason they're pursuing this is a bit of a sad view into the state of medical care in the US.
    I for one am definitely plunking down some cash for this, no release date yet though.
