Feels like it's a big enough of a title to warrant its own thread. I loved Dying Light a lot and I'm very excited to play this one.
Current release date is Feb 4th after the initial December 2021 date was delayed.
A little eye candy:

Yeah DL1 was and is one of my favorite games of all time and it has been updated years past its release. I watched some videos earlier on DL2 and from what I saw it looks a little too arena style "city" vs DL1 and the colors are garish. Feels like they took some far cry and borderlands inspirations which isn't good imo. Hoping they don't mess it up but with the history of games in the last few years I'm not expecting much.

Two more weeks. Fingers crossed no more delays.

I am one of the biggest fans of DL1, the unlimited leveling, open world zombie shooting and driving experience was unmatched. I went from a sure pre-order to uninterested when I found out they were mainly focusing on melee which was definitely not my interest, and with the tighter and more vertical combat I assume vehicles were likely out as well. I've bought DL1 and all the DLC on both steam and gog to show my support, but I simply cannot support them removing the very few things I really liked about DL1.

I'm also holding off from pre-ordering it but for now I'm keeping my hopes up. I usually prefer more verticality in a map over open spaces with driving but I did enjoy The Following. Not as much as exploring Harran but it was still fun.
My worry (it's possible I'm completely wrong) is from the trailers there seem to be too many characters, too much talking, too much human drama and not enough focus on zombies. -
Yeah I am hopeful too and could possibly still get it.
This isn't the fault of Techland of course but the other thing I have to consider is there are too many games coming out that I want, and I have limited play time, so I need to start being choosier about my games. I can't keep buying games because it looks cool or I think I may like it. I have to be much pickier to whittle the list down to something realistic.
I'm still playing Far Cry 6 after 80 hrs and I love it, I skipped BF2042 even though I really wanted to give it a go. Forza Horizon 5 is a blast but I've barely played it so far. Lego Skywalker Saga was announced for April 5. And my backlog of probably 20+ games per year lol. yeah I need to be super picky, only get games that are perfect (for me) and skip the "would be cool to play" ones. Likely will skip Halo Infinite even tho I was interested, for this very reason. Cool to play but not really something I have to have.
