E3 2011 discussion thread!

Check any major game site for vids, Whos excited for what games? what are people waiting to see shown off? Im personally wanting to see some in depth gameplay of BF3 and Skyrim!

 

BF3, Skyrim, ME3 for me.

 

That and (I know this is a pc forum) but if we are talking games, then Infamous 2. The first one is the only single player I can honestly say that I played more than once. I played it somewhere around 4 times all the way through. Very satisfying game. Check it out if you have a ps3

 

I'd like a better look at Heroes VI if they're bothering to showcase it at E3, but it's quite close to release by then so I'm not hopeful.

Newb question.. How does one get into this kind of event??

 

Either download blueprints of the convention center and do a mission impossible through the air ducts, or buy a Nintendo shirt, stick a badge on it with your picture and hope for the best

In all seriousness, E3 is invite-only and it is 95% Press Staff only kind of event.

 

E3 is purely a press event now, I think they've opened up again to a few number of gamers or walk ins but generally if your part of a publication for games then you will be extended an invite.

Word of the street is most games being shown this year are FPS games, which by looking at gametrailers seems to be the case. The new Kojima Fox engine looks great and apparently their is an HD collectiong for the Metal Gear Solid Series coming out, sooooo hyped. Im also hoping to see some footage for ME3, and I also wanted to see what Nintendo has cooking for its next gen system.

 

By FPS games you mean CoD clones and Battlefield 3? xD

Im really looking forward to see what awesomeness Nintendo brings to E3.
(and Battlefield 3 ofc.)

 

I really like the E3 trailers of the new Tomb Raider and Prey 2.
Saints Row: The Third and the Batman Catwoman trailers are nice too.

HAHA ya BF3 and skyrim are pretty high, but just saw the prey 2 trailer and man if the game plays like that video it will be an AMAZING game, but needless to say there are a good handfull of FPS games: Prey2, Cod MW3, BF3, New Metro, Bioshock3, Resistance 3, Deus ex human revolution, and rage, but I know im missing a few so can anyone fill in the blanks _________, ________

Will EVE Online's Console Shooter be PS3-Exclusive? Even EVE is making a FPS game, sounds like a console exclusive.

 

I guess M$ dont want interconnectivity with the PC platform, thus forcing CCP to do PS3 only.

- Phantasy Star Online 2 (unsure if it will make its face)
- New Command & Conquer (unsure if it will make its face)
- BF3
- Diablo III
- Heroes of Might & Magic VI
- New Star Wars MMO

They don't want boot.ini or its equivalent deleted in xboxes.

 

Microsoft right now, they're doing some cool stuff with the system. I'm getting pretty stoked for EA's segment though. ME3 and BF3 baby.

That was god awful.

 

MS Press conference was a total shame. NO ONE applauded ( almost no one ) at Kudo ( the same fail guy from E3 '09 with its kinect fail ).

Round up : Kinect games sucked again, Halo 4 announced, ME3 DLC coming first to XBOX, GoW3 looked cool.

 

And no PC announcements as usual.
Amazing.

Anyway, MW3 was showed, was pretty nice. AA12 is full auto, G18, AK74, P90 and MP5 are back. Pretty much the same as last year's demo though : stealthly plant a bomb, breach, kill, retrieve info, kill, drive the boat, escape.

 

Dont forget Mass Effect 3 on Xbox 360 is "Kinect enhanced". :3
I dont care if i gotta wait for a while with the DLC.

I actually got a Kinect myself, and i do feel the "lag" on the Kinect only games.
Looking forward to Forza 4, it uses Kinect for headtracking and i think thats the only thing its good for in a DRIVING!!! game.

Also whos the enemy in Halo 4?

Wow... More reasons for me to NOT get a X360. Also good news that the graphics requirements won't be high if they really still aiming the game at the console platform first.

Also, I found Kinect-support for ME 3 ridiculous. Like do you expect to literally cover and shoot a gun when I play with body motion?

As I said : Kinect is ruining gaming. It's kiddyfying all games that use kinect ( except ME3 ). Just look at Disney game... /facepalm. The presenters, Kudo, was clapping, but wasn't supported... How sad and fail... xD

 

Thats one of the rare moments being a Hater is cool.
Kinect works best as a addon to the regular controller, not as a dedicated controller.
Next ME3 trailer you see Shepard replaced with a funky looking avatar doing the chicken dance, while also recording the failure in real life.

I like the idea of the new NFS game, but seems like its going to be very linear and the handling seems clunky.

 

It's still pretty early to discuss the final product. Though the lighting and effects were wow'ing! FB2 FTW!

 

Kinect and Move became a big disappointment. What a shocker...

EDIT Well EA conference is over, BF3 graphics look even more awesome. The tank stage had great visuals. EPIC scale

• Game is released October 25
• Gameplay was amazing, scale was huge and very realistic. Shading and lighting effects were amazing!

 

Anyone noticed how huge the desert was for the tank battle?

Edit: Is it me or did BF3 got a earlier release date? and I like how they were pointing all the sticks to MW3, but I guess they got what it takes.
