Expected after EA and Valve announced their partnership back in October
Im not sure how long the sale will last though

No real point since you need to install and use Origin client anyway. If you buy an EA game on Steam then you need 2 clients to run instead of 1.

I think its a good thing and really cool...how is this different than ubisoft titles..

Kinda kills the point being on steam then -

Newly remastered C&C doesn't need it though, older games most likely don't need it too (haven't checked).
I'm also not a fan of double DRM, made a mistake of buying ACII and ACIII on Steam, really hated that you had to go through all that crap to launch a game...
But, for some people, who want to have their game library in "one place", this may work. After all, it's great to have options to choose from.
Personally, I don't suffer from memory loss yet, so I can remember which platform has which games, therefore choose to buy directly to avoid double DRM...KING19 likes this. -
Add Burnout Paradise Remastered to the 2 client list.

It's a nice feature, but its implementation is not ideal. I downloaded Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on Steam not realizing I had to go through extra steps to download and connect to Origin before I could play it. Steam and Origin had problems playing nice together at first, and it was a hassle to get the game to work.
I recently downloaded GOG Galaxy 2.0, which I've found is a much more elegant way to easily access games on multiple launchers.Last edited: Jun 14, 2020skandal likes this. -

And to be honest I'm not a big fan of Galaxy 2. I much prefer the older version. I have disabled Steam integration, but for some reason it still includes my Steam games in library...

I dunno.. I use quick launchers to launch all my apps...
Windows + Q... type name of game....
If Steam/Origin/EGS whatever needs to launch to run the game it just happens.. shrug.. seems to be fine..
I should add there are a some drawbacks.. for instance Steam and EGS you need to create shortcuts and add them to the start menu..
I also use other 3rd party quick launchers and use Alt+Space (Keypirinha). It has a Steam plugin that works really well, and I just point it at my game library folders on my game drive.. the only one this has an issue with is Microsoft Store apps since they are all protected. There's a way around that though to create links for it.
MS power toys has one I haven't tried, but I'm guessing it doesn't work with Steam games.. I had gotten in the habit of creating shortcuts and dumping them into the start menu folder to solve the Steam problem. Probably would work for that.
I like ZERO icons on my desktop and to use shortcut key "type the name of the app" to launch things.Last edited: Jun 18, 2020JRE84 likes this. -
GOG is pretty good like the no drm factor, but I had no idea you could load other launchers with it, very cool indeed will check it out thanks.

The beta was running for some time (first closed then open), but to the public it was released no too long ago.luisxd likes this. -
I suppose I'm pretty strange when it comes to my launcher. I just create desktop shortcuts of whatever game I install and then drag them into this old version of Razer Game Booster. I don't know there's just something about having a small, non-intrusive window to start a game from.

I still haven't tried PowerToys Run from the MS power toys, which looks like almost a direct copy of Keypirinha on the surface since it's also extendable with plugins/modules. -
Finally we will be able to start leaving behind the awful Origin client. I've stayed away from EA games for years to avoid that crap called Origin.

I just subscribed to ea play on steam is 5 bucks and very awesome.....games install on steam and origin installs and runs in the background....before i was paying 21/month
AFAIC
buy ea play on steam, buy game pass and profit as it's unlikely you will need a year to play and beat the games you want to play, massive savings -
i'll add it's missing some titles like anthem but if you log onto origin you can download it on their installer
EA Games officially on Steam
