Darkspore Looks interesting.![]()

But does anyone know what the gameplay is like yet?
-
looks pretty lame. but EA has gotten like that.
-
Its like Diablo, an action RPG. Clicking, random loot with rarity levels and all that... looks interesting. But I doubt I will buy it if Diablo III comes out first.
-
I thought this was going to be something to do with Spore, I guess not.
-
Aren't we still hating on EA?
In any case, the trailer looked lame, so I can happily continue to hate without that annoying glimmer of hope getting in the way. -
Dota clone?
-
Fat Dragon Just this guy, you know?
The flavor writing on the site (such as "Living Weapons -> Zrin") reads like it was written by an overzealous 13-year-old. Part of that comes from the laughable names they've given to everything, part of it comes from the hokey plot and setting, but most of it comes from the mediocre fanfic writing style of it all.
-
Dear god, you're right - the writing is hilariously terrible!
-
EA has Bioware, so I am perfectly fine with them. Activision is the one, who I hope, crashes and burns for being greedy.
Saw this though, looks pretty average. -
it looks lame even on cover page of website lol...
-
That robot looks like that robot in the movie Astro-boy.
-
Yes still hating on EA for totally screwing up the C&C series with the abysmal (probably too mild of a word to decribe how terrible it is) C&C4.

Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
What kind of a tool decides to take a failure of a game, then make another game out of it? o.0
Didn't buy Spore, won't buy this either.
However I am happy to support some other EA titles. Dead Space 2 looks promising. Alice: Madness Returns has my interest peaked. And of course the Bioware stuff is pretty top notch. But I couldn't care less about the sports games. And Crysis 2 will probably be a "wait for a ridiculous Steam sale" imo. -
EA hate? They've been the best 3rd party dev this gaming seneration, imo.
I'll wait and see on this one. -
and this is at 7.40 in the morning before my coffee.
EA mass produce rushed titles that have no depth. And somehow manage to kill an awesome series.
Sim city societes -
To be sure, there is good stuff with the label EA.
But EA is a big, big name, and they own many development studios and teams. Some studios are high quality, while others aren't. As a publisher, they are out to purchase the most in-demand IP and push as many games out as rapidly as possible based on that IP, usually at the expense of quality. The company's developers often employ very skilled workers, but EA often pushes products to completion prematurely, and focuses on quantity of products over quality (how many crappy expansion packs/DLCs have been made by EA's developers? Countless!).
In any case, I wouldn't really credit EA as a publisher for the quality of games like those from Bioware, any more than I would credit the manager of the Yankees for the skill of the players. They're both simply purchasing talent by writing in the biggest checkbook. -
They should learn from ex-Blizzard (RIP), take stuff slowly, produce quality games, and your customer's money will be waiting for you instead. Too many games in too short amount of time, especially when they are of bad quality, saturates the market instead.
