EA says "CD key already in use":

Hi

I am unable to log on EAs server to play Bad company2\Vietnam because it says "CD key is already in use". This is steam games and i have never had questions about CD key in other steam games before.

Anyone who could help here?

Looks like you are gonna have to submit a support ticket to EA to solve this kind of problem.

I had the same problem... What I did to fix it was sign in on bad company 2 multiplayer then go back to the main menu and enter the code for Vietnam.

 

im not at home right now but inside the game I think on the vietnam page there's a tab with an option to redeem code use that to enter the cd key

 

If you have issues with your codes, simply go to ea.com and use the support link. Once there, click on "email" and you will have a live chat option, and they'll be able to provide you a new key.

The reason new buyers get "already in use" is because China scammers use serial generators and then sell them through their con artist sites and ebay, so your key could of been part of the generator results and sold to an unsuspecting customer.

This happens ALOT.

How do I know? I feel for the scam in March '10 on ebay.

 

But i cant, because it says the CD key is in use, and then i go directly to the Vietnam icon and enter the CD key it says "unable to log in"

okay I'm at home now and, since I had the same problem like you and everyone else, trying to get the CD Key to work. I believe what I did, after reading the whole internet was to start the game and when you highlight the multiplayer tab, the drop down box has an option that says redeem code at the end. Click that and enter the CD key, if it doesn't work try it without the dashes. I did mine on the Bad Company Main page multiplayer tab and that activated Vietnam. Good luck.

 

I bought the key from ea store directly as i dont have the steam version, and i can tell that on my desktop i had quite a bad time using the key. For some reason it always said that there wasnt an internet connection in first place, then that the key couldnt be checked by online servers.

Ive shut down the game, rebooted and tried again, finally it worked after 10 tries. Dont remember if i inserted it with dashes or not.

What i remeber was to login in the classic game, then switching to vietnam and insert the key. Hope it helps.

 

I don't think you are doing it right. When you launch bc2 go to multiplayer tab and sign in to your ea account. Then go back to the main menu tab and try to enter the Vietnam code. I don't know if this will work for you but it did for me.

 

Bad Company is still better than Vietnam..
