I doubt anyone will be able to help me with this but I might as well ask anyway.![]()
Someone at EA Games got it into his head that if you live in a country the only language you can speak is the one of that country. So, if you are a foreigner, EA has bad news for you, they won't let you install your game in your own language, even if your language is included.
In my case I'm British but live in France. The days when you could select your installation language are long gone because nowadays EA's garbage senses your country from your computer's localization settings. I want my new game in English and although the game is supplied in English/French the only language I'm allowed is French!
Is there any way around this please or should I just return the game to the store and get a refund?

Return it is my advice. Here in the US we are not allowed to return games once they are open. Vote with your Euro and send the message to EA they need to stop that.
-
Try changing your country/region/language settings to UK/English.
-
I changed my country to the UK but left the timezone as it was. That made no difference.
With Crysis you were able to select your language prior to installation. Not so with Dead Space 2 or NFS Shift 2. This is making me mad, not so much because I can't use the product but because I fail to see who gave them the right to decide that customers were no longer permitted to choose their preferred installation language! -
Find a config file and see if you can change the language there
-
It has only English and French on it but I can't edit it because it's on the DVD.
-
Get the EA download manager and use your serial there. It should allow to select which language version you want.
-
This sounds like one of those times where the developer is practically begging us to pirate their game.

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!
Why don't you import the game from Britain or reinstall the OS as English (UK). The hardware of the laptop is never tied to a language, the OS is and selecting it from the start will always help.
-
When activating the serial code EA Downloader will ask you what version you want activated, and it will bring up the different language specified releases.
Never had any problems with EA Games myself.
It has always asked what language i want the game to install too, if its English or Norwegian for games that supports it.
Last resort would be to just contact support.
Thats what i had to do when they failed to ship the activation code for Mass Effect 2 Cerberus network when i got it for free with Dragon Age 2.
Was asked to give my EA Account name that i bought the game with and presto, fixed.
Now if only all stuff could be fixed that easily. D: -
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
at least there is an option there, with sc2 I had to tolerate the terrible translation that they did, not to mention that I hate dubs -
I tried changing all my regional settings to UK and disconnecting from the internet but still it only appears in French. -
Are you certain it include English? Here in Quebec we get a lot of France versions of games that are sold alongside the North American versions. Those that are from France typically only have French.

In my opinion, you should have English language and subtitles, because original is better than non-original. The quality is much better. <- only if it's an english studio, if it's euro, then search its bame in google, where it is from and its original language ( metro 2033 ).

Use EA download manager, add your key and select UK as your region. You will have to download the game but the language will be English. If you still need help PM me and I will guide you further step by step.
