I'm not sure how many people have checked into this, but EA is coming out a new RPG/MMORPG, and judging by the video and the article it looks promising.

GDC: Rebirth & Risk in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning - Xbox 360 Preview at IGN

Oh and it mentions a few names, no biggie, only R.A. Salvatore, Ken Rolston (lead designer of Oblivion), and the relatively unknown name of Todd McFarlane =P

With a creative cast like that, this game has some serious potential. And apparently the aforementioned people aren't simply doing small advising roles, they're going to be much more heavily involved.

Also, the general idea of the game looks intriguing. This line was the one that caught my attention and would probably be my first introduction to MMORPGs:

"This single-player RPG is just one part of a larger universe that will expand to a massively multiplayer online game."

What about the pricing? Is it gonna be 60 dollars for the first month and 30 dollars afterward per month? I hope EA pricing doesn't come into place.

They have learnt from Blizzard - Create Single player games to accumulate core fan base first before launching MMORPG version.

Who knows, maybe the MMORPG aspect is the one that won't receive the primary focus, perhaps the single-player will.

Wait, "This single-player RPG is just one part of a larger universe that will expand to a massively multiplayer online game." That sounds a lot like the series will be continued as a MMO, not the first incarnation itself. What am I missing?

Also of note: it is being developed by Big Huge Games, makers of Rise of Nations (great RTS) and Rise of Legends.

Which is similar to Blizzard as well, RTS maker to MMORPG maker. I really liked Rise of Nations though.

Meh. I don't like game previews. You read about previews of these awesome games, and see awesome screenshots, and get all excited about playing that game.

Then you wait 2 years for that game to come out.

    Waiting sucks.

It is a classic, they should make an actual sequel some time, but I think after their spiritual sequel failed not many publishers would back that.
