EVE Online's latest expansion Tyrannus now brings with it the ability to interact with planets. I have always commended EVE, but lamented "if only" they had planetary interaction; now they do. EVE is now more than ever a token example of what the pursuit of perfection looks like in a game, in a community, and (to my chagrin), a pricing model.

How do they tackle the problem of game management while not actually in game?

(the above two videos surely complement the staff they have on hand... my heart melted when she said "noob corp")

Okay, so I had and still have one last gripe keeping EVE from being my most perfect game of all time: planetary interaction is nice, but a small substitute for being able to descend onto planets and having full-scale battles.
    Enter Dust 514:
    <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jzVjggarRns&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jzVjggarRns&amp;hl=en_US&amp;fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width='640' height="385"></embed></object>
DUST 514 takes place concurrently in the EVE universe and is the FPS complement of Tryannis' planetary interaction. DUST 514 players will interact in real-time with EVE players, giving them contracts and missions to acquire, defend, and attack planetary structures and territory.

So I rest by saying that EVE is as close to perfection I've ever seen in any genre, but until I am aware of a PC release of Dust 514, I withhold outright worship of CCP games.

Just started on EVE with a trial and I think I'll buy the full game, it sure is lots of fun and very addicting, even with the solo play I'm doing right now.

I've tried and come back a few times. Not sure if its the learning curve or what but I just couldn't stay hooked. Now if I could First Person Shooter on a planet? Now I think that would probably do it for me :)

Just wanted to post that a Intel GMA 4500m has no problems playing this game.
Settings are at 1366x768 with all settings at low with no shadows. :)
