Hi I have the EVGA GTX 470 SuperClocked Edition and my computer keeps turning off while play Black Ops (weird right?) I have no problems with my GPU overheating in Crysis 2, Bad Company 2, etc. I figured it was my GPU getting too hot and my PC was shutting down. I did do some research and that the Fermi 470s have heat issues however I don't think I have a Fermi because it doesnt say that on the card itself. I do not have any amazing cooling, I use the stock haf 922 case fans and stock intel heatsink. My GPU temps are idle are around lower-70 and gaming close to over 90-100C but it never shuts off ACCEPT for Black Ops can anyone tell me why?

Fermi is not a brand or maker, it's a lineup of GPUs, and GTX 470 is under this lineup.

Try raising the fan speed up and monitoring temperatures. If the card is older than 5 months you should try cleaning out its heatsink.. I just recently cleaned out and repasted my 4890 and it dropped 30 degrees C @ load O_O
