I guessing this is because additional lightsources causes more shadows to be rendered, and shadows are by far the most taxing part of the engine. I'd say turn shadows from ultra to high and see if there are any improvements.

I've got a Force 16F2-012 on the way with a 2670QM and gtx570. If I want to run it at 1080p, what sort of performance should I expect if the 570 is overclocked?
-
Ultra settings, 30 to 60fps, depending on location.
All mobile CPUs are badly bottlenecked though, even an overclocked 2920XM. -
My 740qm is holding me back in the cities. Outside it is smooth but when I go into whiterun or riften my fps gets very low.
-
No problem here in Whiterun with my X9000 at 3.8Ghz. Well since the game only uses 2 cores and not 4 a higher clocked X9000 runs the game better than a low clocked Core I7 depending of course GPU, but the game is more CPU limited than GPU limited. The game loves high clocked CPU´s.
Too bad the game don´t utilize quad core CPU´s. I have a Core I7 2600k at 4.2GHz and yes going from 3.8 Ghz to 4.2 yields more frames per second on my desktop computer.
But no bigger problems at all running the game on my XPS M1730 in all high settings with smooth framerate and all sliders maxed. -
Cant say my i7 2720QM has dissapointed me yet, but it is probably the weakest link when playing im Skyrim.
But Bethesda said a patch would arrive after Thanksgiving so maybe 5 days from now? -
-
What performance can I expect with the specification listed in my signature?

Star Forge Quaggan's Creed Redux!

I just hope Bethesda fixes the CPU issues.
This game is not CPU heavy. All the testing and benchmarking shows this game even if can put load on 4 cores, only 1 core is stressed, the other 3 are nearly parked. It's only running on two threads. A single core highly clocked will do better than a lower clocked quad.
Even on Intel, which has 8 logical cores, this game will only put load on 4 logical cores, which means running the game with HT off will likely provide better performance.
I truly believe if Bethesda didn't design a game as if it was released in 2006 with DX11 rendering and proper CPU multi-threading, take advantage of all 8 threads, we'd all be seeing better performance. This is just ridiculous. Bethesda should get consultation from DICE to fix this. At least DICE knows how to make a game use current hardware. -
