I bought this game at GoGamer because they were having a sale...turns out, I love it....but, it crashes when I am playing.

I was into a 40 minute skirmish when the game crashed. I was doing well, and it was autosaving every few minutes or so (10 I think). Well, it just crashed. I was like, WTF? I searched it online, and found out it might be a problem because I am running VISTA x64 ULTIMATE instead of x32. I still haven't found any solutions for it...so any help is gladly appreciated. I don't know if there is any patches or anything, but I will check. In the meantime, if anyone has experience with this, please let me know.

EDIT: Downloaded and installed the patch 1.1...loaded a skirmish, and before it got done it crashed.

It says "EE3 has stopped working", you know, the regular Vista thing.

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode yet?

Could be the game files caching, hopefully your computer defragments every once in awhile, or you could do it manually. Otherwise I don't see why it should be stuttering.

Not all error messages are generated equally, normally there's an advanced tab that gives you more details on the specific cause behind the error. What does that say?

Like I said, I got it cleared up, so I don't know, it just said it has stopped working...however, the game still crashes sometimes, from what I read, it is a problem with the game itself.

If it's the executable file which is generating the errors then a reinstall of the game and then applying the tweaks recommended in the link you provided earlier might solve the problem for good.
