Wow that looks really nice.
-
Yes it looks plain awesome. You just have to see that ocean and ships in action, probably the most realistic water I have seen so far in motion.
-
Brendanmurphy Your Worst Nightmare
The water looks pretty cool but the best i saw was in C&C Red Alert 3 Imo
-
Haven´t seen Red Alert 3´s water yet, will have to check that out.
-
I was about to download it, and then i saw it was 2gb. And i was like.... no.
So i might get it in a magazine or wait like 2 weeks till it comes out. -
Was anyone else thinking
"The British are coming! The British are coming!" -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
so is this game like Age of Empires?
Also that looks fabulous -
-
Oh, and yeah, the graphics are absolutely jaw dropping...especially considering the fact that my laptop runs everything at Ultra with 4x AA on native resolution.
-
-
having trouble running it. anyone know what settings i should be running at to get a stable 25-30 fps? Once i have a lot of units on screen at once it goes down to like 10 which is brutal. running most settings on low already.
-
I d/l'ing demo right now, looks very nice and it's a type of game I haven't played before, will let you know how it fares on my system!
-
That looks pretty awesome, graphics are amazing
-
Btw, I don't know if it's just me, but does anyone feel like the game takes a really long time to load or even just to apply settings changes? One time I thought the game froze when I was staring at the first intro screen for 2 minutes. -
I really hope it plays decently on my laptop...but you guys have no idea how excited I am for this game! OMFG, the DEMO IS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
is there any slowdown caused by your processor? Can it fluidly handle this game?
These days the RTS are SUPER dependent on the CPU and this looks amazing so i was wondering. -
wow, I just played through both of the battles. That is some good stuff right there. However, I feel like the land battles are now super long compared to the old Total War series ones. And, I felt like the sea battle was much more dynamic and fun than the land one, what do you all think?

Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
...holy crap i was gonna download this demo but jeez 2gb?! ....Looks like im gonna just have to do it..
-
-
Guys how would it do with a mobility radeon hd 3450
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Also your 3450 will blow up!!Im kidding you should still be able to run it on low/medium(maybe)
-
i dont think a 3450 will run well at all if i am struggling with an 8600m GT ddr3 which is a way better card. Im having trouble running it smoothly on low.
-
I'd be very curious to know how much of a bottleneck your processor is.
-
My CPU is definitely bottlenecking me. Though the game runs at 30+ fps all the way up to 50 in some occasions.
-
I'm running between 40 and 90, all maxed (AA & AF too), and our GPUs are pretty close, so I'm going to go with CPU limited big time especially the guy with a T7500. My 1680x1050 is lowe but with the AA/AF it evens out.
-
RTS games are usually bottlenecked by the CPU due to the large number of things rendered on the screen at one time.
EDIT: And I'm sure the water doesn't help either. -
Actually the water (For me) rendered faster than the land battle.
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
Ok...i played it and i gotta say this....in an odd way its pretty awesome! At first i was like BORING, then when i played it i realized its fun once you know every soldiers abilities
The Ocean battles are amazing i think its too slow though. I was circling the enemy boat like 20 times not knowing how to destroy itIT was interesting and the water effects were shockingly nice
I loved the land battles though i did the 1 vs 1 mode i got owned the first time the second time i didnt it more strategically and BARELY lost the AI had like 20 troops left and my generals were my last people left this game also takes FOREVER to load man oh man. I hate to see whats gonna happen to some with a lower end core 2 i ran it full on ultra and every detail was nice ESPECIALLY the grass. That was one of the best done parts. Overall i recommend this demo to anyone -
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
lol i broke it up into pieces and then they all just jumped into the water hah. It would have been cool if this demo had online.
-
the water battles are actually way better for me. 30-60 fps unless i zoom in it goes to like 25. How many extra fps do u think an overclock to 2.4 ghz would give me?
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
30+ is what it should give you games like this depend heavily on the CPU so we'll have to see
-
My HD2600 GDDR3 struggles abit at WUXGA...lol Gona try it on WSXGA+ tomorrow. Having been a long time payer of the total war series (since shogun), I think the naval battles are really well done. Though I sill prefer lots of people running at each other like in Rome and Medieval...
-
Update, its runs at 800by 600 with medium settings no aa. About 20-30 fps. This is on my mobilty radeon hd 3450.
Really don't like the game that much. Also how would you tell if your gpu is bottlenecking. -
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
you'll know because you will get a lot of lagging/low frames per second(FPS) It could also be your CPU because games like this use alot from you CPU.
-
-
Hmmm tried the demo yesterday, the water is definitely very pretty. The performance was quite good too considering the fact that I was playing at my default resolution of 1680x1050 and the game would freeze every time I tried to change that to something more reasonable
, but still the fps was around 20-30. Can't wait for the full version.
-
Anyone got any thoughts as to how this would run on a new Macbook Pro under Boot Camp running XP? I have the 2.53GHz version with 9600M GT 512Mb DDR3.
I don't play many games, but the Total War series are en exception to the rule! -
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
So far all the screens I have seen make the game look really awesome! Too bad I suck at strategy games, otherwise I would be all over this!
-
Any details would be GREATLY appreciated...thanks! -
Hey mre...i have the p7805 which is very similar to the 7811 and i can tell you it will run the game at all max settings on 1920x1200 pretty smoothly...i have only played the tutorial but had no problems...
-
Or are you saying that you know that the 7811 can run max settings on 1920?
Thanks again!!! -
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
