y dnt u upgrade ur video card 2 a 128 MB card??...or even the 256 MB 6800 video card??...the 9300 is 1 of the few laptops that offer that video card for a pretty good price compared 2 many other laptops

like luck says, the point of the 9300 is to get the 6800, there's no point in getting the 9300 if you're just gonna get the x300. u might as well get the 6000 and save a few bux. unless, you're in it for the 17" screen only.
anyways, fyi, i can play HL2 on my 6000's 128mg x300 at both 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 with no slowdown at game's recommended settings running omega drivers but w/out overclocking.
i have run overclocked at 400ish/350ish and didn't notice any performance difference so i just run at default settings. -
yea..it is pretty pointless 2 jus get the X300..i would recommend getting the 6800 or getting sumting other than a 9300 wit a 17" screen if u wanted a 17" screen

Totally agree with the previous posts, Gforce go 6800 is essential for gamers....if you got any cash left take it up to 1 GB and 1.86 GHZ...but no more than that cuz the 2.13 GHZ package is a ripoff

So i havent bought it yet. I just thought that would be a good choice since it was only gonna cost me around $1,100. I'm a college student and i have to get a laptop so i figured my hopes of gaming were over, but then i saw the 9300 with dedicated graphics and to my naive mind i figured "wow, dedicated graphics. that means i can play games."
So i went back to look at the website to see if i could figure out what exactly you guys were talking about and came across the new insprion 6000 with dedicated graphics which i could get for cheaper with 128mb video card ( how important is the 256mb video card?). so in a nutshell here's my dilema for now. the insprion 6000 =1.86ghz, 512mb, 128mb graphics for about 1,100. or the insprion 9300= 1.6ghz, 512mb, 256mb graphics for $1373 ( i could upgrade to 1gb memory for less than the 9300 on the 6000).Thanks to everyone who has helped, imagine a forum with only people with questions. -
actually since im surrounded by experts here, let me just ask, "for the price range of about $1300 or less what is the best laptop i can get for gaming?"
-
drumfu are the other aspects of your laptop similar to the one im suggesting if so then i have no reason to spend more money on anything else.

You could get the Asus Z71V for about $1300 with a 128mb Nvidia Geforce 6600 Go, which is a good card.
Dell I6000 -
With a good coupon, you can get an I9300 for $1300 with 512MB RAM, a P-M 1.73 GHz, and the Go6800, tax and shipping included, easily.
