Hey, I just ordered an HP laptop (graduation presents for the win)

    The specs are as follows:
    Screen: 17'' WXGA BrightView Widescreen
    HDD: 80gb 5400rpm
Processor: Intel Core Duo T2500 (2.0GHz)
    Graphics: Nvidia 7600 256mb
    Ram: 1gb DDR2

Can anyone estimate 3dmark05 numbers, and will it play games like world of warcraft on near max settings? (minus AA and AF)

    Thanks in advance
    ~Will

I'm guess probably around a 3000 3DMark 05, and you should be good for World of Warcraft on high settings. Looks like a good rig.

awesome, i was looking at the e1705 also, and debating whether or not to get one w/ a 7900, but it was going to be about $200-300 more, so I opted for the hp...and I like the backlit keyboard that it has too :p

Excuse me nickster, around 3000 3dmark05! That's nonsense. That 7600 scores around 4000 with the latest drivers at stock speeds without any problems.

4000 is a bit optimistic . . I've seen people get that score when overclocked. Stock you should get around 3500-3600, let us know when you get it.

Willdelaney, you can see the score in my sig. Looks like u are getting the same machine I have. You should get around 3500 out of the box, near 4000 with some overclocking/better drivers.

Be forwarned, I had to flash to the previous bios to be able to use anything other than the default HP driver or to overclock. If you try to do either on the f.13 bios, you'll get graphical glitches, lock-ups, etc. I've been running on the f.09 bios for a couple weeks now without any problems. You can find the bios flash for the current & previous version at www.hp.com.

P.S. - You'll run World of Warcraft at max resolution, max/near-max settings without issue.

Pardon my error, hitman. ;) I thought the score would be around 3500-4000 originally, but I didn't want to give him a false sense of hope, so I played it safe. :)

The 7600 is a great card. I'm pretty sure its better then the Ati x1600...but I'm open to correction on that, I am only familiar with the desktop version of the card. You will have no problem new games at nice levels.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio with the T2500 and the 7600 with DDR3 256MB. I posted my 3dmark scores earlier. 4,000 is not a problem at all for 3dmark05. I was able to hit 4700 with overclocking and the laptop remained stable. Could be that other 7600 chips don't have as much breathing room, I don't know what HP is including but if it's anything like the Toshiba, it should run very quick.

wow, sounds good. Also nick...I love under-estimations, cuz then when I benchmark it and it scores way over what you said, it would been awesome to see lol.

But I will definitly post the scores etc. when I get it.
