I m looking forward to buy the Asus G501vw thin light weight gaming laptop,it comes with some nice features like
6th gen i7,960m card, thunderbolt 3 port but it lacks an ethernet port.
I m satisfied with the features but ,i do more online gaming like CS GO,etc.....
so playing in wifi will be horrible, thought of using usb 3 ethernet adapter ...... will it be a good choice
i heard the internet speed will be same as using built in ethernet port, but im worried about the latency(ping) ,how will it be? or suggest me some other ideas to overcome this without increasing latency.
is it right choice to buy this laptop? suggest me some other if u feels its not

A friend of mine uses a USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter on his 2014 Razer Blade and has no issues. He plays some multiplayer games (Dark Souls he said). I'm planning on doing the same when I get the 2016 Blade. Latency shouldn't be an issue (it can be slightly higher, but hardly noticeable).

But since it's not directly plugged into the motherboard, it could use up some CPU, and other devices (like external drives) may have hard time connecting to your laptop.

Also, the internet speed will or will not be the same, depending on your actual speed. It's limited to USB 3.0 transfer speeds, so if you got a gigabit connection it will be lower.
