I tried the demo on PS3. It looked meh.

It played really nice though, a throw back to 3-4 button sports games IMO.

Maybe I'll pick it up too. What are the top teams? Germany and Italy?

Man! Europe is something elese... so much fun, and the greatest football leagues in the world, the culture and the architecture, ***drool***

You should go, I think that's a lifetime experience.

Yes Choy, I really enjoy Soccer, you know its like a religion here in South America, although I don't like the fact of violence (sometimes) at the stadiums...

Europe, yes, the best leagues as I said, Spain have always had the best clubs and players ($$$ talks) but the average competitive level is almost the equal for the same teams i.e. Real Madrid and Barca for Spain, MU, Liverpool, Chelsea in the recent years for England, Milan, Juve and Inter for Italy, and so on...

But the difference aside the money, is that in most countries in Europe, people feel the football differently, is more like when you go to the Movies, not like here, sometimes can get pretty messy...

Ghana FTW!!! (I'll beat anyone with them in an International Game!) ('Euro 2008' , I'd use England then...).

I doubt it's better than FIFA, but you'd have to tell me.

I really like some Swedish bands, like shout out louds

    sorry for the OT, OP.

True. I'll just find a sports bar here. Or watch it on my own 42" LCD. Or, if I get the tickets, at Where the action is.

OT: It's the Brilliant green, a japanese band. But Check out the ones that are coming to where the action is, if you like Shout Out Louds.

EDIT: ARGH, I just noticed which forum this was in. We should stop talking about the Real life Euro 2008 and start talking about the game. The discussion about the real life version can be continued in OT.

There is a quote from Gary Lineker who says something like this:

"soccer is a sport in which one plays 11 vs 11 players and Germany always wins"

I've never understood how Soccer/Football leagues acquire players. Is it like the NBA/NFL/MLB/NHL where you hold a draft for young talent, or can any team acquire whomever they like as long as they pay up? Is it like, everyones a free-agent until their under contract?

Even is they are under contract they can be bought...obviously when a player is near the end of their contracts there are usually speculations whether they'll stay or go.

In terms of young players, all top football (soccer) teams have excellent youth academes...to train young players. In the top leagues in europe, there are two ''tranfer windows'' every season, one in January lasting 1 month, and one during off season, players can be acquired and transfered during those times only.

Also you can lend a player with the possibility of purchase, and the club just pay a fair amount of money for the time he was playing on the team, and depending on the player's performance the club decides if he worth the money or not...

Also, major clubs like Madrid or Barcelona owns low division clubs also called junior players teams (like AA or AAA divisions in MLB), and they spot the more promising players, many times they have scouts with good eyes for young promising players or unpolished gems, and they grab those players for low amounts (the junior player teams need to survive lol).

In Europe is where the money is, and they can afford a wide array of leagues around the world looking for the best of the best soccer players... South America is a good example as well Africa, here, the player worth a 1/100 of their real retail value because you know... is South America, and when they get to become big stars in those European clubs, in that way they multiply their earns.

Cristiano Ronaldo... lol great player but he has a bad habit, he likes to overreact some situations, and there are some people (like me) who doesn't like that kind of "shows"... did you see that play he did facing Xavi yesterday?

Johnny T, are u Dutch? I don't know but AFAIK you shouldn't be supporting English premier league teams, you have a great league in Holland, and the Ajax is a legend... that's bad.

    lol jk...

Oh, MU will have a rough time dealing with the Barca at Old Trafford, but right now like intel, MU is a leap ahead lol

No I am not Dutch...I wish...LOL (since I am a field hockey player :p they are awesome at that).

Yes...he does have some annoying habits, but he is still young and has a long way to go. He did some goo dribbling yesterday, would have been great to get an away goal, but 0-0 is a good result at Nou Camp none the less.

I am guessing by your user title...that you play PES :D :D :D

I have been using logitech rublepad 2 (wired and wireless) for the last 2 years, works great! Reason for why I use them? I started off playing PES on the PS2...so i needed something with similar button set up.
