As you might not be aware, Sony has a cloud gaming service called Playstation Now. They put a lot of games on it which are available to play from both Playstation and also from PC. Right now they have a 7-day trial where you can use it for 7 days for free, to play any available game. So if you wanted to try unique games not available on any other platform - The Last of Us, God of War and some others, now you have the ability to do that.

Past the trial period the service costs $10/month, you don't pay any price for games themselves.
The only drawback is that you MUST use a DS4 or DS3 controller connected with USB cable to your PC or laptop. So you have to get one of them. You can get used one for cheap. Or get one from a local retail store then return it ;-) If this is a major issue for you - then this trial is not for you.

One of the things that is required in order to enjoy the 7 day trial period and wasn't mentioned here:
Having a credit card is required to verify your payment options or Paypal account .
Have a new account on playstation now.
Read the terms of service:

Yes, they use credit card for this. Basically it's like every other trial - they sign you up for monthly service but first 7 days are free if you cancel it any time within those 7 days.

Since it is streaming, you don't need anything that resembles respectable performance. A very anemic and pathetic computer can play games this way. For $10 monthly ($120 yearly) that's ridiculously cheap compared to a PC/notebook capable of playing games, with no games installed.
For anyone that spends a lot of time gaming, the thrift of this option is undeniable. We're talking 1/10th the cost of an entry-level gaming system that will be obsolete and worth pennies on the dollar about 6 months after it is purchased.
Even the recommended specs have 'meh' written all over them, LOL... although, you'll likely need a good NIC and snappy broadband connection to make it an enjoyable experience.

I was kind of interested in this but horizon zero dawn seems to be missing from their list. So I'll continue waiting until everything is dirt cheap or I find out I have 6 months to live.

Console
I really cant think of a console only game that I would like to play. Maybe mario with family, and even then you can just emulate old wii, cube or n64 games.hmscott likes this. -

Checked out a couple of videos on the stream and the compressions kills it for me personally.
Not sure what they can do about that either lol
Guess I'll be getting a ps4 pro at some point.
