Yeah it is a nice laptop (Clevo/Sager M570ru). It will get an option for a blu-ray drive sooner or later. Eurocom also sells the same notebook and they already mention a blu-ray drive although you can't configure it yet.

For the price, I'd rather get a dirt cheap laptop and build myself a nice desktop for $2,000 :(

~$2000 isn't too bad considering the gaming power it has. (of course, it has nothing on a $2000 desktop, but that's a different matter). I'm an out-of-state college student, and a desktop just isn't an option for me. A gaming notebook like this is perfect for me (which is why I ordered one).

Rock Xtreme 770 = Evesham Zieo NX600-HD = Sager NP5790, and all three of them are just re-brandings of the Clevo M570RU.

Hah...well this is a laptop forum ;) I mean, gaming on a laptop is not cheap because it requires high-end hardware.

An 8600m with 256mb is a solid card. An 8700m with 512mbs is really really good. The eventual 8800m is likely, but the 8700m has to be considered an enthusiast option.

Core 2 extreme CPUs getting set to come out for laptops also.

Congrats on your new laptop purchase. The NP5790 is great, I especially like the brushed aluminum lid that they put on it. It "looks" thicker than the NP5760, but that's because Sager played optical illusions with the NP5760. I went the other route with my laptop purchase. Small, but still quite powerful.

I believe the 8800m will be out within 3 months....if you think it's big enough of a jump over the 8600m/8700m to wait, that's the question!

I really don't want to wait for the 8800m as in September I'll be in uni, so I'm hoping I can either upgrade or the 8700m is alreadya great card.
