nice list of upcoming games 2012.
Which are you excited for?

This was my e3 list. Yes I realize alot of these games are out already but eh.
BioShock Infinite
Prototype 2
Prey 2
Battlefield 3
Blacklight: Retribution
The Darkness II
Metro: Last Light
Alien: Colonial Marines
Far Cry 3
Serious Sam 3
Saints Row 3
Postal 3
Counter-Strike: Global Offence
Doom 4
Mass Effect 3

EDIT: After reading that, War of the Roses, The Witness and Thief 4 are definitely being added -
Doom 4...was completely unware, but definitely excited.
SCII HOTS
Dota 2
GW2
Tera Online
Tribes Ascend
My list still hasn't really changed from last year, lol, but I'll still probably end up playing a large majority of the major 2012 releases. -
Doom 4!? I didn't know that was due out this year? Didn't see it in that list. I really liked Doom 3.
-
Yeah well I just googled it and..
Doom 4 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
UPDATE: Doom 4 "Indefinitely Postponed" Following Rage's Disappointing Launch
I added it to the list like last Summer -
Starcraft2-part 2
Risen 2
STALKER 2 (!?!?!?)
Dragon Commander (woot Divinity 2)
BioShock Infinite
Mass Effect 3
So far, 2011>>2012 -
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
Prey 2 (even though it looks a lot difference from the first game.
Amy (looks cool)
Prototype 2
Darkness 2 (Never played the first game, but I like the comics)
XCom
Gratuitous Tank Battles
Darksiders 2
There are a bunch of others that I'll have to wait and see about, though. -
Not that I know much about Prey 2 but a bit disappointed that it's different. I actually quite enjoyed the original Prey. Interesting use of portals, etc, not overly complicated or difficult, just fun.
-
I'm mainly waiting for Hawken (forever!)
-
Diablo 3, If they decide to let it out in 2012
-
Diablo 3, Mass Effect 3, Guild Wars 2, Tribes Ascend, GTA V, Stalker 2
-
I'm looking forward to:
Mass Effect 3 (the most)
Far Cry 3
Actually that's pretty much it. I don't have much time for gaming and those two are the ones that stand out to me. I think Bioshock Infinite will be good too but I probably won't get it unless it's heavily discounted at some point. -
Hawken. Looks. Awesome!
-
GW2, Stalker 2, GTA V, Metro last light, C&C generals 2 (ok 2013...)
I want to want ME3, but... man, origin, way to instill doubt in gamers. Likely won't pick up ME3 until it's on sale. -
WORLD OF DARKNESS?!!!! finally someone heard my cries
I would go nuts for a masquerade MMO
-
Guild Wars 2 for sure.
-
Dota 2, mass effect 3, diablo 3, assassins creed 3.

World of Warplanes looks interesting. GTA V and Mass Effect 3 are must buys for me.

can' wait to ram a Gulfstream-like jet into the Capitol Record replica building in GTA V

Too many sequels!

Mass Effect 3
Diablo 3
Darkness 2
Guild Wars 2
Prototype 2
Borderlands 2
Syndicate
Doom 4?
GTA V (hopefully my stupid dual core can run it lol)
Man theres too many to keep track of now. All of 2011's big sequels and games for me were a major flop incl BF3/DA2/Crysis2 etc. I can only pray that 2012 wont be a disappointment -
Metro Last Light is Q1 2013, I wish it was 2012
-
these games are really good and exciting, i just hope that the good ones will make it in 2012
-
Diablo 3
Max Payne 3
I would be excited about Mass Effect 3...but I still haven't finished the first one. >.>
Darksiders 2 (played the original on 360 but I <3 God of War style action) -
Mass Effect 3
Max Payne 3
Aliens Colonial Marines (which is kinda Aliens vs Predator 3/4?)
Prey 2
XCOM (the recently-announced strat one, not the FPS one)
maybe Far Cry 3
Diablo 3 (if I want the rest of my non-gaming life to vanish forever)
...
Seems Alan Wake (this month, yay!) is the only one I'm looking forward to that isn't a sequel.
Last year the only new game I bought was Dead Space 2. Oh, and Duke Nukem Forever (sad, sad...) -
Mass Effect 3, Kingdoms of Amalur (awaiting reviews), Alan Wake, Hawken (go mechs!!), Thief IV, Hitman, and Stalker 2. -
i dont like waiting, so i am just looking for whatever comes out.
-

I have been a gamer for 20 years now ( i started when i was 8 years old with the original prince of persia ), and since 2007, i BARELY found any games worth playing.
I blame it on consoles of course, but while i dont want to start a console debate, i simply wont buy any game till i see it on youtube to know if its good.
Last game i bought was Deus Ex 3, and while i did enjoy the game, the controls were so terrible that i could not play more than 1-2 hours straight from the frustration of having to repeat missions/parts of a mission.
I have tested a demo of a few games like for example the highly anticipated skyrim.
When i saw it... i decided to wait 2-3 years to play that game once modders totally change the game. (It felt like a "difficult to control fallout 3 mod"). Some of you might have played morrowind/Oblivion after some HEAVY modding, and im quite sure you know what i am talking about.
As far as i can recall, the only game that really hit ths spot for me was The Witcher 2.
After so amazing games in the past (Starcraft: broodwar, Baldurs gate, Diablo 2, Stalker/Crysis, Trackmania 1, Morrowind,), what we get now.... well just makes me laught:
-Sc2 (great game over all, but "profesional" players are quitting the game after a year in many cases, does not look good). Everyone of my friends who played broodwar at a competitive level (as i still do), agrees on the fact that starcraft 2 is simply boring compared to broodwar, but its where the money is, so...
-Diablo3 (not yet out, but it seems will be a console based game, saw some beta streams/speedruns; Bottom line? Looks like a 2003 game...).
-Neverwinter nights 2? Hard to compare this to something apart from Dragon Age, and while origins totally blowed my mind, dragon age 2 was only fun for me to chain some spells to get some fun effects... apart from that, there was nothing at all i liked about that game.
-Crysis 2... looked "ok" for me compared to crysis 1, but the story was an abomination, the areas felt unreallisticly restricted and closed, and of course the console controls were still there.
-Trackmania 2, after the first one, i was like "da is this?!" (excuse my manners), I could not even understand the fun on a drifting game where the drift was unreal, yet not possible to control effectivly....(to the perfect extent at least).
-Skyrim, While great looking, and very nice start in the story, we cant cheat ourselves:
1.It is a fallout engine game with DX9 and poor textures.
2.The menus/inventory/leveling have been 100% destroyed and focused on consoles. ( i mean, come on, how can you make a game where, if you are in battle, to change to another spell it can take you 14 seconds to choose it? It totally breaks the momentum of the battle).
3.The fight has been considerably... hard to say. In oblivion, i had the feeling i had to calculate well when to block and how to atack. In skyrim, it seems i have to HIT HARD, DRINK POTION, HIT HARD. Dosent give me any satisfaction from winning a fight.
Now, i do want to play some games, but im rather skeptical about them beeing good.
Mass effect 3 is definitly something i want to play, if even to see how the story ends, and if i get to bang that squid again.
Doom4 is probably not going to be very impressive (as rage was a bit of a fiasco in my books, since it did not implement any element that draged you into the game by itself), however i want to see it for nostalgic reasons. ( i just hope it wont be another Duke nukem forever).
Stalker 2 i am interested, but i heard the company had problems so im not sure it will come out at all.
The Witcher 3 would be interesting as well.
Now i know it might seem like a very negative point of view, but if i cant get dragged into a game a few hours straight, then its probably becosue the game is not good at all. -
I'm looking forward to Prey 2, was pretty impressed with the gameplay and cgi trailer.. I hope it lives upto my dreams of a open-worldish game is a blade runner type world..
Also, look forward to any expansion to the Witcher 2, hopefully even a full blown sequel(unlikely since they're too pre-occupied with the xbox360 version)
@ Cats_paw Unfortunately, I've got to agree with you about skyrim. I've played about 10 hours worth on a friend's machine and while i enjoyed it for its excellent world and story, I dont feel like its a game which deserves to be bought at full price.. It's half-baked for the PC. Will wait till modders make it the game it was meant to be..
Edit: ooh also looking forward to the next CnC(by bioware) whenever it comes out.. I hope to god they wont spoil it with any consol-ization or god forbid, DLC units.. -
If ME3 didn't require Origin, maybe I'd be a little excited for 2012 gaming. As it is now, I'm just about done with PC/360/Wii gaming. Too much crap.

Its kinda natural that the more you play the harder it is to surprise you and basically you dont want to "do same things again" and "this game is just like that one from 5 years agao" and that one — is "madness of awful graphics that isnt quite on par with metro 2033".
Speaking for myself i rarely play more then 2-3 evenings when a new game comes out, More often 1-2 hours at best. However i found myself a niche in online gaming, always challenging to play vs other people so Diablo3 and GW should be interesting at least. -

professional level sc2 is still growing... i don't really think it matters if some people decide to quit, that's up to the individual. as a collective, it's getting bigger. I'm sure there are many sc1 pros who quit also, if I elect to look at individual cases. In fact, people quit from things all the time. I guess I missed the point.
