So after an early retirement of hardcore gaming on the Playstation 2/1 (don't ask why) I'm ready to get back into it but this time through PC's.

I'm a complete noob when it comes to PC gaming having hardly any experience. I just read in one member's thread on rpg's where one person suggested emulation to play the Final Fantasies on their computer. I've played this wonderful series millions of times of through and would like to continue to do so on a computer.

But how do you get started?
