Magma ExpressBox1 is an easy-to-use device for attaching a "desktop-only" PCI Express (PCI-E) card to a laptop. This capability allows a user to combine the power of a desktop and the mobility of a laptop into a powerful, flexible, mobile workstation. For example, a user can turn a typical, middle-of-the-road laptop into a powerful gaming, scientific computer or audio and video editing workstation by simply adding the right PCI Express card to ExpressBox1 then connecting to a laptop.

Have you read how much does it cost? I remember it was above 700, which you might be better off with the XG station..
-
A repost from a few weeks ago, but the general comment was that the price for it is pretty steep. And I don't think it includes a GPU.
-
wtf..anything like this that costs under $200 bucks? I'd jump all over it if I could use my g8800gtx card for my laptop.
-
Wait, so how does this work?
Does it plug into my laptop where the GPU us now? -
No, it is supposed to convert the desktop PCI-Express Cards to the ExpressCard. And it will be plugged into the ExpressCard Slot (if you have one).
Of course if you ever want to put a GPU in it, you are reducing the link speed from x16 to x1 which will reduce the performance at least to 2/3.[for 8800 it'll be much worse]
