A quick search says I can run a game installed on an external drive.
Would a USB3.0 external SSD drive actually reduce load times over an internal HDD?
-
-
Nope. It would be better. External SSD's have great read/write times. As long as it is USB 3.0, you're fine.
-
My original question is poorly worded.
So, making sure, a USB3.0 External SSD will be better than my internal hard drive? -
If you're talking about something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Portable-250GB-External-MU-PS250B/dp/B00RWXV8FE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1432148777&sr=8-1&keywords=external ssd then yes, it's better than a standard HDD. There are other brands. Just chose this 'cause it was the first to show up.

Thank You

But just to clarify that using SSD won't improve your FPS by even 0.1 - It will only improve loading time.
-
As long add your internal HDD isn't also an SSD, yes.
-
How can an HDD be an SSD?
-
I think he meant in the sense you internal drive isn't an SSD...
-
Just making sure the term isn't being used interchangeably. I realized it was a very small chance, but just to be safe.
-
Yeah.. i get it, just making sure that wasn't the case. I knew what it was myself.
