I have a go 7600 in an compal hgl30. I just d/led and installed the game, but a couple minutes into the game, i started getting artifacts. Black polygons and triangles started to distort everything so i had to quit (kind of like the windows screen saver "beziers" except with sharp edges and completely black). I set my display settings to autodetect and everything ran nice and smooth until the artifacts.

My current clock speed is 442core/372mem (up from 350/350), but i have a stable 3dmark05 score of 3548 and CS:source runs fine, so i dont know why it is doing this. My driver is currently the 8.3.9.0 driver that came with my laptop, and i don't see a need to update it (if i should, what can i try that will still allow me to keep the coolbits clock frequency hack?). any idea what the problem is? should i bring it to stock clock and try autodetecting settings and then overclocking again afterwards?

    thanks in advance!

at least yours is downloaded. i can't get the download to go any faster than 12 kb/s!!!! so ghey, and i have a fast line too :( any nvidia driver will have the coolbits overclock built in, you just might have to unlock it through the registry again.

I had a similar problem with the Compal HEL80 and overclocking - after a few minutes of play (even with a modest overclock), I got artifacting. I'd suggest putting the GPU on stock settings (you shouldn't need to overclock if you are running at XGA or WXGA) and see if the same thing happens. I had no trouble running games without overclocking.

It what Counter-Strike should have been! I'm not normally a fan of flashy graphics and such, but watching the tracers and ricochets flying around in slow motion is just **** cool! And it runs well on both my PCs, so I can smack my little brother around too!

Just curious...how long did it take your guys cd-key to arrive via email? I downloaded the game but have been waiting on the key to arrive. Also, after Step 2 where it asks you all that info, I hit submit and it goes back to step 1...I figure this is normal because when I try to use the email again it says its already sent. But I haven't gotten anything yet

Quix make sure to check your trash/junk mail folder, oftentimes auto-mailings get shunted right over there
