    I'm wondering if anyone else has a logitech G5 and plays f.e.a.r notice a drastic drop in frames per second approximately 20 mins into gameplay (like 35 fps to 10 fps). For some reason when i play my computer is smooth then all of a sudden my pc is really choppy and it stays like that. I do know it has something to do with the mouse because i tried other mouses and it does not cause any slowdowns when I play f.e.a.r except the logitech G5. If you guys have an idea on how to fix this play help me.....I f.e.a.r is one of the games i enjoy playing and I don't want this problem to keep me from enjoying my experience.

    Apparently FEAR doesn't work very well with G5 (or with some other Logitech models too). This is currently the only fix I know of: http://forums.vugames.com/thread.jspa?threadID=33244&tstart=0
    The fix is not problem free, some mouse buttons stops working. But atleast you can play without slowdowns. Hopefully they fix these issues in the next patch.

    I use a G5 and G15 and never had a problem with the originall FEAR. now FEAR Extraction Point I had MAJOR problems with the frame rate. I know its not logitech related because my roommate has a completely different notebook and Microsoft mouse and had the exact same problem. see the desktop in my sig. I was getting 5-17 fps in many spots till I completely disabled shadows. even then the frame rate was still half that of the original game.

    then again after reading that link I must have had a problem and the 8800 was so powerful that I never noticed it in the first game. hmmmmmmmm

    i read something in xfire that talked about fear and the logitech g5 i think this will help :D

    click here

    its to do with xfire and fear But if you read further down this guy resolved his issue with his logitech g series mouse...prehaps this will help you both...im glad i got a mx518 :p

    let me know it does...

    this is what he says :

    For users with Logitech G series Mice and Keyboards that suffer framerate issues? you may want to do this HID Driver fix too, cause it's known to cause framerate issues ingame due to the Direct Input bottleneck on the JupiterEX Engine (as I stated above, lol). To do it you must disable all "HID-Compliant Device" drivers with "046D" in the the HardwareID. Sadly, this makes Logitech's SetPoint Program totally useless.. but at least keeps your FEAR framerates up eh?

    Here's Manual Instructions for that fix:

    Go into Device Manager (Start > Control Pannel > System > Hardware (tab) > Device Manager)

    Hit the Plus (+) sign beside "Human Interface Devices"

    Right-Click on the first "HID-Compliant Device" in the list and select "Properties"

    Click on the "Details" tab

    Open the drop-down list and select "HardwareID" from that list

    Check if it has "046D" in the HardwareID.. usually looks like "HID\VID_046D&PID" for where it would have it

    If it has the "046D" in the HardwareID, close the properties menu and select that "HID-Compliant Device" and Right-Click on it and select "Disable"

    You may need to check serveral "HID-Compliant Device" drivers, for me it was two of them, the 2nd and 3rd in my list
