Guys, I wanted to go back in the old days of the "Formula 1" games on PC. But for some reason, every time I try to play F1 Challenge 99-02 with 08 MOD, when I click launch circuit, it says F1 Challenge has occured a problem then closes. I have Windows 7 and my gfx is GMA 950. It worked on my XP on my other computer which has the chipset Intel 845g which is prettty old, but it worked fine. On my laptop which has Windows 7, it doesn't work. It launches perfectly but then when I click launch, it closes. I was about to make another partition for Windows Xp Home Edition so I can play F1 Challenge 99-02 =(. Anyone has any advice or information? The requirements match more than perfectly with my laptop except the operating system which I forgot. I have also runned the game in Compatibility Mode too and run in Administrator as well, but the problem was the same =( . Please help!

I have this game, some mods, and a new laptop running Win7 x64. I do have an nVidia GTX260M, so that may skew things a bit, but when I get home from work I'll load it on there and see if I can get it to run. I'll post back with my findings. It's cool to see a fellow racing sim fan on here. Have you ever tried rFactor? It's a newer sim, butilt on an enhanced version of the F1 99-02 engine, released by ISI, the developer of F1 99-02. Your Gfx chip would be a problem for rFactor, but if you ever get a chance to run it on a higher spec PC, try it!

I also have F1 99-02 with new season+map mods, but I only run it on my XP machine. Anyways, if you can wait a few more months Codemaster's F1 2010 is slated to come out in September.

I'm also a sim racing fan, and I recently tried reinstalling F1 Challenge to run the F1 7 and the Prototype C mods (both fantastic), but on my 8600M GT laptop with Vista it has the same error. I'll do some more research to see if I can cure it, and in the mean time I'll stick with GTR2/GT Legends/Race 07.

After I read this thread I reinstalled F1 Challenge 99-02 with F-1Mania 2008 mod. My laptop specs same as my sig.

It looks like you have to select the program capability mode to Windows 98/ Windows ME :)

right-click the icon for the program, click Properties, and then click the Compatibility tab.

    Thanks everybody to try helping.
I guess I'll try running in compatibility mode.
