hi, im planning on buying this laptop, but i would like to know if the x1600 is ddr3, or ddr2
Is there much difference between both?
what do you think about buying a f3ja (core duo 2, 2ghz, 1024Mb ram, x1600 256 + 256) for 1300
thanks![]()

Wow, that seems like a pretty good deal. I could get one of those here down under for around $2100 or so. DDR3 does make a difference, especially in games. The memory is higher quality so it can buffer/load things faster. And if you get the F3Ja, stick in another gig of ram to make it fly. I'm still eyeing the A8Js (or p) because the GPU is much better. Hope this answers some of your questions

thanks
is there much difference between core duo 2 and core duo 1?? cos the same lappy costs 100 less with core duo1 -
In reality, the Core 2 Duo is not supposed to cost any more than the Core Duo. This one probably does because it's an Asus and there are some price breaks on the older model. -
so with normal core duo i wont be able to run vista??!!!
-
no vista with 32-bit processors???
does it mean that 64bit processors run games at higher performance¿ -
-
so whats the difference between 64 and 32 bits?
-
i dont understand why 64bit has been released

Vista will run perfectly fine on the 32-bit processor. As will the regular 32-bit version of XP. Even if you get the Core 2 Duo, you would probably want to stick with the 32-bit OS' anyway because as the link you provided shows, 64-bit Operating Systems perform worse than 32-bit. This isn't because 64-bit is worse than 32-bit, it's because drivers for 64-bit Operating Systems suck. Do a search on google or on this site to find out the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit processors.

yes you can run vista with 32 bit you just have to get 32 bit version.... and if your using all 64 bits of your processor then yes it will run games faster
