    Hey guys,

I'm pretty new here. Just picked up my Asus 2 days ago. Notebookcheck states the HD 3650 to be 600/700 core/mem, but GPU-Z says my HD 3650 is running at 600/400. I would like to tweak it a bit to pull out some better numbers but I can't seem to get rivatuner, ati tools, or ati tray tools to display in game cpu and gpu temps. I have everest now and it does dispaly these temps on the tool bar, however, I'm not sure how accurate they are and how I would be able to use it to determine the effects of the tweaking.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

    RivaTuner should work fine.

Make sure to switch the display to:
    - Plug and Play Monitor
    - Default Monitor

... order to see the temps.

So I should switch from plug n play to default? I go ahead and try that and keep you posted. Thanks,

Alright, both displays still won't allow me to do anything. Any other suggestions?

    if you read my guide.

you will see that the main RivaTuner window has a pull-down menu to chose default or plug-n-play.

choose the one that will give the Hardware Monitor a temp reading.

Don't get me wrong its a good guide. The problem is, as I previously stated, I get no hardware monitoring button on either display nor are any drivers being detected. Is there anything else I can do besides the above? From your experience, what ati drivers are detected by rivatuner? Thanks,

if there's no hardware monitor button... I would try other drivers.

Which drivers? I'm still on vista, I tried looking at omega and extreme but they only have drivers for XP.

oh my bad... i thought u had a Nvidia GPU. :D

ATI mobile GPU's are hard to monitor due to them not having hardware sensors that can be read from third-party programs (like RivaTuner)

Nvidia mobile GPUs are built like their desktop GPU brothers... with almost every hardware monitor sensor in them... making it easy to monitor.

    I would also try:
    - HWmonitor

However, there should be a temp monitor in your Overdrive tab of the Catalyst Control Center.

I'll check out both of those. Currently I am using everest to monitor gpu diode temp and cpu temp. I just want to be able to monitor gpu temp while I game/test some clocking setups.

Vista and ATI is really whooping my ass. I know this card is capable of producing higher numbers. Wheres the support!?

I think I prefer everest over HWmonitor unless however you can get it to display gpu temps in game.

And I was not able to find a temp monitor in the overdrive tab. It also sucks that overdrive has no effect on vista is for XP as well.

the Catalyst drivers get locked down by Vista's UAC and privileges sometimes.

I guess I'll have to wait till I have time to locate all the drivers for XP to pull out higher numbers. Till then I guess...

Thanks for your much appreciated help.
