FPS Drop ( ALL Games)

Hi Guys ,

Now this has troubled me for a while now and here's the deal.

I am facing massive fps drop on ALL GAMES for some reason which needs to be investigated.

Just a few days back i resolved the issue by upgrading my Nvidia drivers but the problem has re appeared in few day's time.

I would really appreaciate if some of you could help me investigate this problem because i face this issue after some months have passed everytime i do a fresh installation.

This is speccy info.

 

Now you can see is that temperatures are not too high while running game i havent seen GPU Temp crossing 68 C ever.

CPU Temp remains under 60.

More over some of you might point to "Sxe Injected" to be the trouble while running cs 1.6 but the thing is even after launching game without sxe it starts dropping fps.

ALso i face this issue on modern warfare that is fps drop and in PES 2010 it appears while initial game videos are running rest game runs fine strangely but videos getting stuck while game load is an indicator that this problem has re appeared

if some of you require additional info i would be glad to post but please do help me investigate this re occuring problem. More over these are my machine's specs

Dell Vostro 1500

CPU: Intel Core 2 duo T7500
GPU: Nvidia 8600M Gt
Hdd: Seagate S.A.T.A 160 GB
RAM: 2 GB (2 MODULES)

One more thing whenever this issue appears most of the application response time while launching/quitting gets slow that goes true for windows explorer/firefox etc too.

Also i have tried to resolve issue by uninstalling all the the suspect programs like Divx,Klite Media Codec Pack,toolbars etc etc but of no avail.

 

Initially its 100 fps when i launch game.

When i Click on Find Server fps drops to 80-95:



As server is most of the times bz so i i put it on Auto Retry from this dialogue box and fps drops further to 40-60:



And when i join game it remaing between 25-55

 

First of all, instead of making a new post every time, it's better etiquette to edit one post to add more info.

If your fps is high when you first start a program, but drops partway into playing, that sounds like a temperature issue.

I know you said you checked your temps, but I'm not familiar with the program you're using to check. I'd suggest trying CPUID HWMonitor. It's easy as hell to install, takes almost zero resources to run, and is probably one of the more accurate programs (yes, different programs can give you different results!). Run that in the background and then play for a while (30 mins +), then post the results.

Another thing you might try is installing and running Lavasoft AdAware. There are some spyware programs that can really slow down older machines.

I don't highly suspect a background program being the problem, since that wouldn't cause fps to drop over time as you play a game, but you never know.

 

I dont have your answer. All I can say is HOLY CRAP!

Well I myself wanted NOT TO create a NEW THREAD but all the fps drop issues i came across seemed different to the one i am facing so that was the reason behind it.

As far as your suggestion is concerned i am on it thanks.

 

you can't really compare the FPS in the actual game Vs the FPS in the menu ..... for example I get 80-100 fps in Dragon Age origins menu Vs 20-35 in the actual game that is normal

The thing here is that i get 100 fps normally on cs 1.6 with VSync Forced OFF and i guess 8600M Gt is capable of giving 100 fps on cs 1.6 and 70-90 on modern warfare

After this problem arises i get way below this number.
