I want to game on my pro without windows. My favorite game is BF2, any similar games for OSX?

P.S. I know about boot camp but prefer to stay as far away from windows as I can. Even if it means no BF2 :)

Someone correct me if im wrong but i think that UT is run on OpenGL(very mac friendly) so i think that the new urealtournament and old ones all run on macs very well. Also any UT engine games as well >>Quake,etc..

wolfenstein enemy territory is the closest you will get to bf2 in terms of gameplay on osx at the moment, its an older, free game.

battlefield 2142 will be available on mac this month.

other than that, halo is sort of similar to bf2, doom 3 and quake 4 are good mac fps's.

yeah unreal tournament 2k4 is available for mac, as will be ut3. gears of war is also en route.

those are all titles you should look into for mac shooter games. good luck!

edit: unreal tournament supports both d3d and open gl shaders. im pretty sure ut3 will have open gl, direct x 9 and direct x 10 rendering options.

my suggestion would be to dual boot, like what masterchief is doing. If your worried about viruses, then get virus protection. Then you wont have to worry about games for macs, but UT 2k4 is great, so deffinently get that.

Unreal Tournament 2004 and the upcoming Unreal Tournament 3.

Mac OS X is a neglected platform when it comes to gaming. Even if the game is based on OpenGL, developers tend to take a long to to do anything for Mac users. You'll have to deal with Windows if you want to game.
