I don't know a hard number, hopefully someone else will help you. I do know that you will have NO issues at all playing CS:S on a 7900gs. You will easily be able to max the settings and have it run very smoothly.

I'm pretty sure you should get a solid 60FPS at the minimum. A new patch coming soon will also give you a boost, with your dual core.

I have it and I went to the video stress test and it was over 100. You should have no problem. I have the 2.0 ghz with 7900 256 MB E1705 Notebook and it's great.

I play it with aaX8 on my x1600 and if it runs at 70+ frames with that on for me then you should be fine with the 7900

on MY system my CSS FPS ratings are 67-98FPS. You should of course get a much better FPS than me.

I get over 100 fps on hl2 ep 1 so your system should run it at 150 fps or more even at a higher resolution.

Dam I get 45 FPS on the video stress test, with no AA, I thought that was pretty good, but 100's, wow.

Umm I am running the game at 1920 x 1200 and I average around 70-90 FPS. Is this normal?
    My specs:
    Dell e1705
    Core 2 Duo 2 GHZ
    1 GB RAm
    7900 GS
    7200 RPM Harddrive

It probably is. If it is Im sorry I just tried to relate my experience for comparison.

If css is harder to run you wont get that frame rate.

You would get over 150 fps in hl2 ep 1 though
