Hello everyone, I'm new here and not the most tech proficient person in the world. I recently downloaded the newest beta drivers 179.13 for my Alienware 9750 with a 7950 GTX card. The games will both run awesome until randomly the FPS and mouse responses slow down dramatically. Can anyone help me solve this issue?

Are you running vista? If so make sure you're in high performance mode.

Yes I am running Vista, and my power settings are all at high performance. I haven't overclocked my card at all or made any alterations to my machine.

Try monitor your GPU temperatures to make sure it's not overheating. Your GPU will usually downclock once it hits a certain critical temp to prevent overheating, hence decreasing gaming performance.

    Download HWMonitor to check temps.

First thing you should try is getting a can of compressed air and blowing out the dust from the vents underneath your laptop.

Since those 2 games are a little new (actually newer than the driver you are using) id wait for the next driver to come out

The GPU temp hit 104C. How could I remedy this situation to lower the temperature in the core?

I will call alienware in the morning. It seems like both of my fans are running fine however. what could be causing the temperatures to reach those heights?

expired thermalpaste, needs to be reapplied maybe? they do that.. if not, they'll change the whole motherboard, because 100+ temps usually damage internals...

Thanks so much guys. I am really glad that I came here to post. And I am amazingly more glad that I bought the 3 year extended warranty.
