The controls are really unfriendly to a KB&M with Dead Space 1. You'd be much better off if you had an Xbox controller to play with. That said, can't beat free--thanks for the head's up.

Yes, 8W AMD Quad core with IGP can handle it (spoiler from beginning of game):

    <iframe width='640' height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/1BG7TeSEm-Y" frameborder='0' allowfullscreen></iframe>

So can the 2W (really 4W) Atom in the Asus Transformer T100... So yes, your laptop can handle it just fine, unless it's an ancient Atom N270 or something.

It was not meant as a criticism but just a head's up that someone might want to get an appropriate peripheral before playing.

It's not free... If you don't have an Origin account.
I got it for 2.49EUR on Steam and I think it still was a better deal than selling your soul to EA. :D

OK...but it's still free if you do have an Origin account ;)
We get it, some people don't like EA but still the game is pretty good and even better when it's free.
Thanks for the heads up OP.

Considering Origin has some kind of refund policy in place for digitally distributed goods, I would say that puts it in a league above Steam.

hey news flash, you can look at all my stuff I don't care kaaaaaay you can look through my pictures and crap do I careee nooooooooo

I don't know why people are so scared of people looking I don't write secrets anywhere but in my brain and my closest friends but never on something electric so I don't care weather this is true or not (im sure they don't) I don't care if they look through my Firefox history and if they get my password there's always a change option or a do not remember option I don't need to write anything down and I never do my penmanship is bad and I don't write anything cause I never forget

Plus I have all the passwords to all the routers you think I wouldn't notice some weird uploads to unknown addresses I run servers I have to monitor that stuff

Anyways I've been using origin for a very long time and I have not every seen any of my info get stolen obviously cause it hasn't effected me how does someone I don't even know on the other side of the world with a word document effect me if he knows no one who knows me is 1 example

2 origin doesn't do that. I don't understand where you people get such stupid rumors

Btw I think its awesome about this free sale :) I never booted my alien so early in the morning before

Ps: YOU, Consi pit are the only genius I have heard this from, please go elsewhere and stop trying to spread rumors you realize that's illegal correct. It is against freedom of speech to spread rumors that aren't true to hurt someone's reputation, sadly your in Poland so it may not apply to you. Unless you have proof please don't come and spread around some chicken scratch that isn't true.

Just searched "origin news" in google I found NOTHING on what your saying I even went back up to 25 google pages. Your invaild

For people who are actually playing the game, disable VSync in game to remove mouse lag and you could force VSync in nVidia control panel in case of tearing issues

I'm not sure how creating a free account to get a free game is selling your soul. I created a tumblr account, used it for ten minutes, decided I wasn't interested, and never used it again...did I sell my soul to tumblr by creating that account?

Nah, I don't think that's the case with tumblr... I think it takes away something else.

Also, smiley face. I put a smiley face - that means a joke. C'mon, man, it's not that hard. I know you're a lawyer and all, but surely you must remember what a joke means :D.
You see what I just did - I put another smiley face - that means it's a joke (we won't discuss the "quality of the joke now, just facts). I know, it's sometimes hard to distinguish what's a joke/sarcasm/irony on the Internet and what is not, but once again - smiley face . Remember that. It may save lives on the Internet.

Do you have pagefile on? Sometimes even if you have plenty of RAM you can get out of memory errors if your pagefile is disabled or too small.

Now I remember why I wasn't so excited playing Dead Space in my friend's apartment when I was younger. Why do I have a widescreen display if I feel like I'm in a diving mask playing something??!
Not mentioning strange behaviors like I need to limit fps so mouse would be snappier even without vsync while if I turn vsync on even this doesn't help. Built-in AA is a joke while if I set 4X MSAA game will feel like it gives 20 fps while Fraps shows I have 40-60 fps. If I set 8X is just crashes. And moving character is like I am telling a drunk guy where he should go - so SLOW and CLUMSY!
Lowered difficulty settings from high to low, maybe this will help to ignore those stuff.

For someone who is about to play it:
If you want better AntiAliasing then either
    1) open Nvidia Inspector and set AA compatibility flag 0x004030C0 and AA behavior flag to None. Also set SS to 8x, line gamma and gamma correction enabled. Turn off built-in aa and bloom OFF. If mouse cursor is not responsive while you haven't even turned on AA in Nvidia Inspector (not performance/optimization problems) then set frame limit to 60.
    2) you can inject SMAA (better than FXAA). Google it, it's pretty easy.

Widescreen FIX! For all versions of game. It is possible to change FOV by Widescreenfixer.
Download program. Select a game there. Hit preferences icon on the right of the game's name and select lets say +10 to still and +5 to walk FOV. Then go to settings, select a proper key for turning on/off and launch a game. Hit that key and voila!
