I am going to buy a laptop with one of the following two video cards. Which one of these laptop-based video cards will run the latest video games better?
Nvidia Quadro FX570, 256 megs of DDR3 video ram:

Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS, 512 megs of DDR 2 video ram:

The laptop will have a T8100 Dual core 2 processor. 2 gigs ram at 667mhz, and a 7200RPM hard-drive.
I am going to hook-up the laptop to my 22 inch monitor, so I will be running in 1650x1080 (native) resolution most of the time.
The video game I plan on using the most in the near future is Vanguard. Its an online game that is very 3D graphics-intensive:

The first one is the better choice(FX570m).
-
Yes, the 570m performs slightly better but because it's a workstation card, you may encounter some problems with some games.
-
Well, using the correct drivers would give you a 99% 8600M GT DDR3, which OCes like crazy, plus you`d get the benefit of the workstation power, like CAD and OpenGL rendering,if ever needed.
And usually workstation cards come in good packages, meaning good build quality and such.
What laptop is it, the T61p by any chance? -
-
It won't run into any problems. It's a Quadro which means it's OpenGL optimized, but under that, the FX570 is basically an 8600m GT. It will work the Vanguard, no problem. Some people say that Quadro cards are meant for 3D rendering and suck at Direct X games, but from my experience the FX570 runs on par with my 8600mGT in every game.

Plus the T61p is an awesome laptop, and Lenovo`s build quality is legendary.

SOmeone got 6K 3dm06 wth an OC FX570m......

At 1280x800 it's possible on a GDDR3 8600.
If transforming a quadro into a geforce is possible, transforming a gefore into a quadro should be too. -
At 1280x800

Also, I believe that the quadro card eats more power than its geforce counterpart.
FX570 versus 9500M GS?
