So that they could rebrand 570/580m and call them 6xx generation cards.

FXAA by driver is comparable to 4xMsaa visual quality, with 2xMsaa fps hit.
Its really good, its a bit blurry but nothing really game breaking.

AMD will probably release similar stuff sometime.
But until we see some hardware the lights are on Kepler.

Fxaa is enabled in NVCP Alan Wake profile but is off in game.
While 8xMsaa is enabled ingame along with all other details maxed out.
So I've left off just Fxaa in the game to use only the newer Fxaa by forcing it in the driver.
Results are fairly better: nvidia driver Fxaa is less blurry and in conjunction with msaa it really does wonders.
I want to see how it does with skyrim as well.

I will do the same , NVIDIA said that it's not safe to use these drivers for 400,500-series.

It's better to wait for the unified drivers. It's said that it will be released by April.

Well nvidia doesn't endorse modded drivers for obvious reasons.
First mainly to not off gtx680 users since those features are a time exclusive features, second because these are not optimized for mobile chipsets.
However for high end cards there's no point in being worried. My 485m is the same core as a desktop 460, and 580m users are mainly running a desktop 560ti.
So these drivers should cause no harm and work perfectly fine.
I can testify about the genuine behavior of them since I've been running them since their release and they are working perfectly fine across all the games.
The adaptive vsync works great and Fxaa too, as I said the results with Alan wake are great. Capping the framerate at 30fps with no input lag while maxing out the game+additional driver level Fxaa is great.
Then I've hooked the laptop to my 32" 120hz tv (in sig) that basically runs the game at 120fps albeit being locked at 30.
Baically it's like running it at 60fps natively with 50ms input lag.
    Profit!
Btw this works even on console games, Samsung clear motion rate engine (120hz) makes me able to play uncharted 3 and gears of war3/other 30fps games at more than 60fps per second.
It really adds a new dimension.

There is hardly any driver that can cause damage to a hardware chip nowadays. Put your worries to rest. Just do it. :p

And to add the FXAA did wonders for my GT 335M which I am using before I get a new notebook.
