    Hello everyone,
I recently have been using my Alienware m17x to play Final Fantasy 14, and my Framerate is garbage, absolute trash. I can't even play on standard easily. [Even at 1600x1200 windowed its trash, my native is 1900x1200]
Is anyone else having this issue?
Catalyst drivers v10.12 [Yes I have XFire enabled]

It might be the game itself. I read somewhere that Square wasn't charging subscription fees until they had fixed the game.

Don't run things in the background only run the game, turn down shadows, try lower video settings, also you could be in a high dense area and the server can't handle the load. Just cause you have to video cards doesn't mean you can run everything max. Even my single GPU 5870m eats it a bit, but turn down shadows firstly. This game is much more taxing then portal btw.

    heres the settings i use
go into: FFXIV config settings/video settings

    display mode: Windowed
    Window size: 1920x1050
    multisampling: No AA
    General Drawing Quality 8 (standard)
    background drawing Quality 5 (high)
    shadow Detail standard

    FFXIV config settings/Graphics

    Ambient Occlusion: un-ticked
    Depth of field: un-ticked
    Disable cutscene effects: un-ticked
    Texture Quality: high
    Texture Filtering: high

that gives me solid a60FPS outside cities and 25-35 in cities...

    hope that helps
    good luck

yeah im really happy with how the game runs with those settings, it allows me room to have shadows on, physics on etc in game as well, and still have other applications going on in the background, DTV/Music etc, the game looks great at those settings for me, so i dont need it to be any higher.....

hope you enjoy he game, for me im giving S.E until next month to release news/patches saying what this new development team will be doing, if i dont hear anything ill be leaving the game.
