I just installed on my Toshiba X305 q701 with 9700m gts, and installed patch to current version maxed all my graphics settings and it drops to 8 fps with city in view, clouds or just when it's displaying polygons. I had the x205 sli1 with 8600m gt in sli and it was running at 80-90 fps. I was assuming it would run just as good if not better on the x305 but seems like it's not taking advantage of the gpu and better cpu. What can I do? I know it's more cpu extensive and the x305 is suppose to have a better cpu and the patch makes it take advantage of the gpu also so I wonder what can I tweak in order to make it run smoother?

Try running off of one core instead of two. Btw Falcon 4 is very CPU dependant so the processor plays a much greater role than the graphics.
Also see how many processes you are running. You may want to disable your AV while playing. How much ram are you using and flavor of Vista? -
I thought the latest patch (1.0.13 or something like that)takes advantage of the dual core and gpu? Like I mentioned I was getting awesome fps with the Toshiba x205 sli1 and this is the next generation x305. Anyway how do I run off of one core, disable my AV (what's AV stand for?) I have Vista 64 with 4 megs ram, and I tried running in compatibility mode for xp sp2. I really don't want to uninstall, since I haven't even got into the simulation yet and I just invested in a joystick.

Falcon 4 is multithreaded from the get go (even the original nine years ago!)and nearly doubles its FPS if you use a dual core over a single core.
I will try on my Gateway with 4GB RAM and Vista 64-bit when I get a moment. -
yes please let me know. I'm thinking it's not making use of the dual core cpu for some reason and I'm hoping there's a way I can tell if it is or not and if I can turn it on or something cause I know it should be running way better than this. I also know that it does support gpu cards because of the patches and that maybe even if it doesn't utilized it to it's full potential, it may be the drivers I'm using (Dox's 178.24) but I don't want to change drivers just for 1 game.

shoulda kept the SLi1 duh! ha, just kiddin with ya, but you should be way good to go, sounds like a driver issue... It runs great on both my SLi1 and my TX2500 tablet, so it's definately not hardware speed related.... odd my money would be on a driver issue though.

Where can you buy the game?
-
yeah I loved my X205 but it got stolen so I had to buy x305 I have no regrets for the newer games but I love Falcon, and this is just bummer. Maybe it's the drivers but I don't want to install another just for one awesome simulation.
You seen couple copies at best buy under the older games section and that's where I got my copy last year.
