I've been doing the gaming laptop thing for a couple of years now but it's time to retire her and move into a more powerful system. Steam offered an amazing deal yesterday and on Wednesday that I couldn't pass up so purchased several games and I'm just loving every minute of it.

The question is when I move into a better system and ebay the system I have now will steam allow me to download & play all of the purchased games over on the new system?

I'm sure the answer is on their site but I'm at work now and gaming sites are blocked.

Of course it will. You can download and install all your STEAM games onto as many computers as many times as you want.

I have two gaming computers, my desktop and my laptop. I don't use them at the same time, so I can log into steam on either one at any time and play any Steam game I've bought. I actually loaded the games on my laptop by following the backup procedure on Steam so I didn't have to re-download all 12 gigs or whatever it was.

I just copy the entire Steam folder, but also remember to copy over the My Documents folder, as that's where all of your saves are.

That's where MOST of your save games are. ;)

(To get ALL save games you'll want to copy Documents and Save Games and AppData from the primary User folder. Also grab the ProgramData folder if you want to be absolutely sure).
