Before i begin i like to say im a complete noob when it comes to PC Gaming. :p

Anyways i recently bought Fallout 3 on steam and wanted to see how it ran. It gave me high settings on recommendation with having it on 8x Antialiasing and 15x anisotropic on 1440 x 900 resolution. It was really smooth throughout the gameplay. So me being curious i wanted to see if i can play in Ultra Settings but with the same resolution and it still played smooth as butter even on gunfights. I wanted to see the Temps and i got 70 C. The fan was kicking pretty loudly and i freaked and turned off the game. So me having no knowledge on PC is this normal behavior on a laptop when gaming? I really dont wanna overheat my gpu.

Don't start to worry until it reaches 100C

70°C is nothing to worry about. "serious" temperatures for a GPU start at 88-90°C.

You panic at 70C? Mine hovers around the 80C mark when I game! [Usually anywhere between 76~82C]

Don't worry, it's normal [in fact, I do find it low!]. Personally, I'd start worrying if it exceeds 85C. 70C with your fans kicking means your laptop is just doing its work of keeping your GPU cool pretty well.

As the other posters have stated, 70c is fine... worry when it gets to 90c

The chances are that your GPU got over 70C. If you used a program to log the temperature you would see because they cool down very quickly, even from switching windows.

70C is nothing to worry about like everyone else says.
