I have a brand new m17x r4 with a 680m graphics card. Fallout 3 goty however wouldn't run. It would crash at selecting 'new game'. I read a lot about how to fix it and nothing really worked. I got the idea from reading that Fallout 3 doesn't do well with the Intel integrated graphics which is on my m17x (Intel 4000). So, I finally got it to work by using the Function F7 key and reboot to disable the integrated graphics and use only the 680m. Some of you may know about this already for this game, but it sure wasn't offered anywhere I looked and I thought this might help others out. Even if you don't have an Alienware, perhaps you can still disable the switchable graphics (Optimus/Enduro?) on your laptop.
