    This is not good news.

I bet it's going to be more than 10gb as well.

I'll wait till the reviews come out before I decide to buy it. If only it had lower system requirements, I would have pre-ordered it.

The minimum requirements aren't too bad though. Although, if you can only run it minimally you might as well just get it on console (if you have one).

Guys, this game is on the 360, any computer with a 8600m gt ddr3 + will be able to run this @ medium and have it look close to xbox 360 graphics, with isnt bad at all.

Benesoft has a rep for releasing mod friendly games. If anything it'll be like oblivion with alot of customized graphical packages that fits low end machines as well as dream machines.

The PS3's GPU "RSX", is based on the desktop 7800GTX clocked faster, but also crippled with only 1/2 the memory bus bandwidth (128-bit instead of 256) of the 7800GTX and 1/2 the ROPs (8 instead of 16).

It's decent, but nowhere as powerful as a PC or Laptop's 7800GTX or 7950GTX

The 360's uses a custom GPU called "Xenos" that doesn't really translate 1:1 with any desktop or Laptop one.

It has 48 unified (pixel + vertex) shaders, but it isn't DX10 as it lacks some DX10 specific things like geometry shaders.

It also has ~11MB EDRAM with 256GB/sec! bandwidth in addition to it's main (shared) 512MB memory which runs at 22.4GB/sec. Again, this is something you generally don't see in PC GPUs.

I've no idea how to rate the 360's GPU memory bandwidth, adding the 2 pools together isn't honest as only a very small amount is 256GB/sec and the main 512MB is shared with the CPU. Yet you can't discount the EDRAM as it lets the 360 do AA almost for "free" (less performance hit.)

ATI designed the chip, but I've no idea who actually "makes" the chip as I could have sworn Microsoft bought the rights to its console's GPU this time around.

(They weren't going to repeat that Xbox mistake with the 360)

no where near it, thats such an over exaggeration.

people need to remember, just because you can't play it at "recommended' or "high" settings, does not mean it will look worse or not as good as the console versions.

It will take a little OCing to get it to work nicely at high res...
7950GTX is still an amazing card, but with new games it can only handle low res for high details...

I never mentioned anything about the console version. By using common sense I deduced that if you need an 8800 or 3800 card to play at "recommended" which doesn't mean high/max. Then maxing this game out will be an option not many pc gamers will be able to have.

December's issue of XBox Magazine gives Fallout 3 a 10/10 rating. Although I pre-ordered the CE for PC I may pick up the 360 version as well. :)

If you run it at 1280x720 like the consoles will, I think you'll run it very well.

I have a two month old ASUS M50SV-A1 - it's stock except for a 7200rpm hard disk and an overclock that nets a 30-35% increase in frame rate in stress-tests...

What are my chances of being able to run this, and on what kind of specs?

I can run oblivion (the streamline version) on full specs at what I consider to be a good framerate (don't have an actual value). What settings on FO3 are likely to give a similar framerate?
