    hey everyone,

I'm going to be receiving my sager 8660 very soon and i'm debating between which game i should first play. I only have money to buy either fallout 3 or farcry 2 but i'm not sure which is the better game and which i should just wait till the price comes down. I wanted to ask people who have already played both games for their oppinion.

fallout 3 hands down. FC2 has very good graphics, but the storyline itself is, basically, abysmal.

I'm fallout series lover, so you know my choice. It's hard to compare both titles in my opinion.

Fallout 3. Beautiful game, in more than just visuals. Far Cry 2 has a terrible story line, boring gameplay, and imo, not very good graphics.

Just make sure you download the patch and install the high res texture pack :) Your system should be able to handle that no problem.

Fallout 3 is a masterpiece. FarCry 2 is an average overhyped title.

    Fallout 3.

It's a massive, beautiful world with an engaging storyline. Even today I am still exploring the wastelands.

Far Cry 2 was an impulse buy for me, and I regret it. The gameplay is awful, you drive for about 5 mins to get to the location, shoot some people, and drive back.

If only the driving was fun, it might have been worth it. But the driving is awful... really awful.

definitely fallout 3 is the game. good graphics, storyline is just awesome, log gameplay.

farcry 2 has a ty storyline which i thing is the most important thing of a game. graphics are note the main thing. as long as the story i good it is worth of buying.

I haven't played Farcry 2 either, but i have Fallout 3 and its a great game i've started it over 3 times already(kept getting the stats wrong). Although on all the restarts i did the furthest i have gotten was to the galaxy radio(I'm a quitter :D ) I still really enjoyed what i played.

Wow i'm the only one for far cry 2

For me fallout 3 took the worst parts of oblivion and morrowind, threw in some guns, a lifeless environment, and a clumsy control system and called it a game. It's about a 6/10 for me just because i love open ended games.

Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 are pretty different games in different genres. It really depends if you're looking for a typical FPS game or an action RPG game.

The graphics in Fallout 3 are mind blowing. I too am a Fallout series lover, and you can get some mods on PC to get even higher resolution textures (re-skins). Speaking of mods, mods for Fallout 3 on PC truly extend the experience of the game to infinity. I have about 70+ mods installed, ranging from weapons (suitcase nuke!) to armor (night vision goggles!) to complete quest-lines longer than the main story. You won't find a game that you will get your money's worth out of more than Fallout 3.

Side note: You can kill kids on PC with a mod ("Essential No More"), just like the originals. You can also plant live grenades or mines on them to watch them go boom!

For all your FO3 modding fun: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/

You can spend your days waiting for your NP8660 to come by downloading mods and preparing them :p

I've to agree, shopping for mods are entertaining :X so that's another bonus and its free! Long hours gameplay + long hours not-boring shopping for mods.

I will too pick up the game when the mod community is as huge as Oblivion (More unique stuff rather than just reskin).

$10 for a official DLC is not that worth it IMO.

I have FC2 for PS3 and I have to say that when I got it I just started playing online, but when my internet has acted up (about 3 weeks after I got it) I play the single player and it's not that bad. I have geard great things about Fallout 3 though and am planning on getting that for my new lappy.
