Is there a significant difference in performance between Fallout 3 and New Vegas on the same system?

Fallout 3 uses the same engine and used to run rather flawlessly on my 1520.

Seems technical problems on New Vegas. But the story/script better on New Vegas. They are the same engine, but there are odd problems with New Vegas. More you play the framerate drops and there are times when framerate really drops. And the load times increase they longer you play also. In general, maybe not everyone suffers this.

Although that doesn't happen every time. I have played through almost the entire game so far, and haven't came across any bugs.

But performance wise, I would say yes it is very similar to Fallout 3. I am running on the same settings as I did in Fallout 3 (near max), and I achieve the same FPS as Fallout 3.

The only bug I have found was that if you reload a saved game and go to a computer terminal the screen will not show up....but if you quit out of the game then load your save it works again....weird

Yup. I had one like that but I went to pick a lock and the computer hacking screen came up.

If you had lets say High Settings for Fallout 3; you should have the same for New Vegas. You might have slowdowns when objects appear in the distance, and in big battles frame rates can really suffer.
