I need some help! I have an alienware m18x with dual 6970m graphics cards and the screen is tearing terribly when I first start it up in full screen. What do I need to do? I have installed my new video card drivers (11.5b) but now I am wondering if I did something wrong. If the problem is because of old drivers could I also get some help (a walkthrough) on how to properly uninstall and then re-install my drivers? Thank you!

Probably a silly question, but doesn't the game or the catalyst control panel have an option to force V-sync?

I would run a thourough uninstall and re-install of the ATI drivers.

Use a proper ATi/Nvidia driver removing program like Driver cleaner Pro. A program of the like dedicated for un installing graphocs drivers.

Full hard reboot after and ensuring that no drivers remain. (maybe even just un install drivers in safe mode.)

Then re-install ensuring CORRECT compatability for your specific GPU.

I have v-sync enabled in the game and it's still flickering every time I play in full screen. In windowed mode it runs fine and when I disable crossfire it plays fine. Just when crossfire is enabled the flickering occurs.

Pengy 666 - I will give that a shot quickly right now. Thanks

Did you install the latest version of AMD Catalyst Application Profiles?

D3doverrider almost always removes screen tearing.
It's a part of Rivatuner but should be easy to find as a standalone zip/rar

Crossfire won't work in windowed mode, so I guess your problem really in CF. Try update/install AMD Catalyst Application Profiles as suggested above.

Afaik 11.5b with Cap2 should be the best thing.
Better you check/ask for advice in guru3d ati drivers section as with ati drivers+caps is a mix and match thing.
Thats what i dont miss from atis, nvidia sli seems more and more
    Easy/Stable to use.

So I am a complete noob when it comes to this whole video driver/Cap2. Could someone help out with some detailed instructions on how to correctly uninstall my video drivers and reinstall the new ones with Cap2? I would greatly appreciate it!

You dont need to uninstall at all.
The profiles are a separate addon targeting Crossfire users.
    Install and reboot.
