    Hey guys!

So FC2 seems to be a disappointement for most... I looked at the original FC and it's only $10, cheap enough that i can afford it even if it isn't that great.

Do yall like it though? Is it worth getting or is it pointless?

    Thanks :)

The original Far Cry is absolutely awesome.

Definately worth the $10 they're asking. Although go for Half Life 2 instead if you haven't played that.

I also bought FC for $10 at Staples over the summer. The environments were varied enough but it was still repetitive and some parts were insanely hard. Overall, buy it, it's worth the $10.

Yeah, I've also picked it up, but I've yet to play it

I heard it also looks really nice, even though its old now

For the record, FC was made by Crytek, but FC2 is made by Ubisoft

far cry was a great game...until the Trigens showed up, then, well the game was ruined for me. This was a huge problem with the game..so i have heard.

I haven't played it yet (too much h/w these days :()
But i'm looking forward to giving it a go with 180.70 drivers.

I find the free roam concept to be interesting and want to see how it translates into real gameplay.

I only hated those big ones that took about 5 shotgun blasts to kill. Thankfully there were only a few in the game.

The trigens reduced Far Cry from being a smart, tactical little shooter to a garden variety shooter. They required no "strategy" the way the humans and their AI did. Stealth wasn't really worth it. When they show up, it horribly dumbs down the game and turns it into a twitch shooter.

Far Cry, prior to the trigens, is absolutely awesome and one of my favorite shooters. Once the trigens show up, just stop playing. You've already seen the absolute best the game has to offer.

i couldnt agree more, and apparently im not the only one, as the game has many, many threads about this topic alone in many forums.

They used to annoy me a lot,but you can actually have a bit of fun making them drown themselves.

    I guess,unlike far cry 2,enemies don't keep respawning and once they're dead...they're dead.

If you play the game only until the trigens show up,you will have missed 3/4 of the game.

Can't remember any trigens in the user made maps....devils island was my personal favourite, liked that one better than any in the original game.

Definitely agree. FC2 is starting to get repetitive and boring. Driving from here to there takes way to much time to keep me engaged...15 minutes in the car can be better spent on HL2 or similar.
