Didn't see any topic about this game yet - looks like fun, anyone else plan to pick this up? Hope Ubisoft don't announce the same kind of crazy unoptimized 30fps GTX 680 minimum requirements as Assassin's Creed Unity.

Learned today Far Cry 4 has not only open world co-op, but also PVP...with elephants

    EDIT: System Requirements announced...

    Minimum
    • Supported OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64-bit versions only)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-750 @ 2.6 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.2 GHz
    • Memory: 4GB
    • Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD5850 (1GB VRAM)
    • Direct X: Version 11
    • Hard Drive: 30 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card with latest drivers

    Recommended:
    • Supported OS: MS Windows 7 SP1, MS Windows 8/8.1 (64-bit versions only)
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-2400S @ 2.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz or better
    • Memory: 8GB
    • Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon R9 290X or better (2GB VRAM)
    • Direct X: Version 11
    • Hard Drive: 30 GB available space
    • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card with latest drivers

Pretty much half of the forum is looking forward to FC4 I am sure :D It will be a good game I think, they have a lot of new mechanics added + I prefer the new environment to the previous island theme

I think I'll be able to play on high with a 970m at about 80fps like with fc3

For me the game looks better than FC3, I wouldn't count on having the same framerate. Also note that the 80fps on notebookcheck is taken under 1366x768 resolution ;)

My apologies, I meant to say 980M SLI with each card vBIOS hacked to unlock the full GM204 cores in them AMD 7950-->7970 style, with 1500 core and 8000MHz memory.

And only 25fps in high action scenes.

    Fixed that for ya ;)

Looking forward to the game, but will definitely not preorder. I enjoyed FC3, even though it took me years (literally) to complete. And it actually ran well until I started updating drivers - that's when the black boxes started to appear.

    Really looking forward to it!
FC3 was fantastic. I never had performance problems with it back on the 7970M. Who knows now with a 680M...

I re-played FC3 earlier this year still on the 7970M and found it ran much better than at release. They must have improved something since they released it. I might just wait a year for half a dozen patches to be released haha

Far Cry 4? You mean Far Cry 3.5? God damn Ubisoft don't deserve my money. "Games don't need to be optimised for PC, the player will just buy a better PC" "30FPS is more cinematic" "Resolution is just a number" So much cringe, I can hardly deal with it.

Quick to criticise but ubisoft is the only game developer to release a true open world game that is simply good old fashioned single player fun!

I might criticise too if this wasn't the case!!

So that's why it's called an HP Envy.

Also being the sucker I am, most likely I'll end up buying the Kyrat Edition.

I.. you.. WUT? Holy hell even 60 FPS is starting to not cut it for me anymore. :nah:

Blood Dragon is a very worthy expandalone to FC3, and I think I actually enjoyed it more.

Third person shooter but Just Cause 2 is tons of fun -- that grappling hook is magic.

Well, its not FPS (we could have called it FPCaster :D) but Elder Scrolls (I played 3-4-5, sadly missed the 2 :() is unrivaled in terms of open world (Fallout 3 was also, I think it is safe bet to say Bethesda is the king of open world games).

It's a tough decision. GMG are offering 23% on the preorder of this game. These voucher codes never work on games that have only just launched, only preorders. It's the only reason why I ever preorder any game ever (well that and also to preload games on Steam because the house's ISP, Virgin Media, have dodgy internet connections that can cop out without a moments notice for many hours at a time - not common, but it has happened on several occasions in the past year). I can buy it now for only £28.88 - compare that to the £49.99 launch price and you can see why the 23% deal is so enticing...

On a related note, has anyone noticed how GMG has switched back to using only USD? It shows me all the prices in GBP when I first check the website but as soon as I log in, it switches all prices to USD. I'm certainly not complaining, as it actually makes everything significantly cheaper! Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this happening (been like this for a few months now) :D
