I love all the CoD single player campaigns, but the MP just hasn't cut it for me in the past. I enjoyed Skyrim and Dragon Age: Origins too though but not sure if I have the time to invest in it. Then there's Far Cry 4 which looks hella fun just for some quick romps in single player open world.
I don't have time for all three and really don't want to buy all three now at their premium prices. What would you suggest?
-
CODAW - generic and predictable story. not as bad as ghosts but it's still the same COD fare.
DA:I - Just started and it looks great.
FC4 - fun but wait for patches this coming week to see what the response is.killkenny1 likes this. -
I suggest Dragon Age.
Edit: No, stay away from games, you old codger. -

Went with option number 4 because I wouldn't touch any of those game right now. Wait a few months till they get patched 'n' stuff. In the mean time play something you already bought but didn't bother to play.

OK then, get Assassin's Creed Unity.

COD campaign is kind of short for the money, still waiting on far cry patch.
For an OCD, dragon age probably will kill way too much time... -
I would get either COD or Far Cry 4... IMO, I'm more interested in COD so I'd recommend that.. Also the fact the Ubi games are badly optimised at release means it better to wait a few months before getting them..
-
if COD's MP doesn't interest you and knowing that the SP story is quite predictable, I say get CODAW when it's on sale....for now go with DA:I!
-
Far Cry 4
Open world and fun..
COD : useless without the multi player
Dragon Age : dont know the series.. -
I can't suggest giving Ubisoft money, especially considering they manage to get "ultra" running stutter free on a GTX 570 + core 2 quad equivalent system but you can't do smooth like that on much higher end PCs. Also, Ubisoft. No.
I'd suggest dragon age though it may be a little hard to run.
COD has gotten a lot better, but $60 for the campaign isn't really worth it for any of the cod games... though you could probably play survival too. -
Been playing Dragon Age. Bioware is back, baby.
-
I will wait at al these games l. Since I can not buy it ( only to rent) I do not take this for the first price . A bit later I'll have a better product at a lower price ( Improved optimization, no jams, etc. )
It only takes a little patience, which I learned through games publisherskillkenny1 likes this. -
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Good thing that I bought them for cheap, otherwise I would be seriously bunghurt. -
Seems CoD never drops in price until the next game gets released.

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Seriously A¢tivi$ion?!? -
I haven't has anything game breaking with DA:I (on console anyways). <strike>The game looks pretty good as long as you have the hardware for it on PC</strike> The game looks good on any setting imo and as someone said, Bioware is back. You are likely to sink a lot of time into it though, so be warned. Thinkof it as a sort of DA:O meets Skyrim.

Far Cry 4... no interest in the series and it looks like a present-day fallout clone minus the strategy, RPG elements, and epic story. Plus its ubi, so starts with 2 strikes against it. I gave this a pass without even playing it after watching my friend pan it on PS4 and go back to Destiny.
Dragon Age: Inquisition... I really want to like this game, but the consoley controls on PC (obviously designed for console controller instead of the keyboard/mouse) and ruinous tactical mode camera are hurting my desire to play badly. It IS better than DA2... but that isn't really much of a recommendation. Of the three I'd say it's your best choice as they are likely to patch the camera.
CoD:AW... pretty much a bad Titanfall clone without the Titans and with staggeringly bad network code. I tried this one and it made me yearn for the halcyon days of Titanfall despite having enough of it a few months back. At least Titanfall was fun, if relatively brainless. I think its time to just start automatically passing on anything labeled "Call of Duty". -
DA:I by far WingNut, you will love it!
-
lol till its patched. something console gamers dont even have to mention. buy an xboxone id say and skip the pc bs thats going on this year and soon too come for the life of the next gen consoles
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Also from what I gather ACU sucks on consoles as much as it sucks on PC.
Besides, Wingnut is a fine PC Master Race specimen, he would never buy a console game for himself! His kids yes, but not himself. He's a true patriot! -
So , few times I paid for a game that was really beta version . I play for relaxation , not for to be nervous for my money .
For me, the game has a premiere when it gets at least two patches .
A separate problem is the price . As I said I do not pay a lot for rent.
And if we talk about Call of Duty ... well it just is not my must have . I can play , but I do not have to . I can wait even three years .
But DA: I , in which I want to play ( with a big big pleasure ) , will be much cheaper in a few months . -
i understand but why not get a console and play at 1080p ultra without hitches...its like having 980m gtx for 420 cad
-
For me, the biggest problem in consoles is only one slot for saves , and lack of a large number of rpg games .
By the way - I have a x360 for family fun .
After that , a lot of time I'm out of home , and need a mobile device. -
There's no console that plays all games at 1080p ultra LOL. And if they do, it's not 60fps for sure. And it's not gonna have AA
-

The current consoles can do what my old 680m can do. So basically ultra at 1080p with no AA at max 30fps...
980m can can stick full AA and double the fps! Even raise the resolution a little -
oic guys my bad lol
bit exagerated
-
FC4 has awful stutter and poor GPU utilization/drops.
COD sufffers from the same issues.
DA:I runs great and is the best bet of the three but no way you'll be getting 60FPS at ultra. I've locked it to 40 and it runs perfect there. I could mess around to get a solid 60 but I can never be bothered when a game makes you restart for graphics changes to take affect. -
Also, you definitely have something wrong somewhere on your PC if you can't get 60fps constant in CoD, because I can on a single 780M at stock. I really really wish I knew what your problem was man. I wish I did.
FC4 can jump off a bridge for #Ubitimization though -

No way you get stutter with a 980m! I don't with 680m all on ultra except geometry which I left on very high (too intensive for the poor 680m)
What I have done is set max pre buffered frames to 3. It helped with fc3 too so it's a given it works with this game. -
lol I say something utterly true and someone chimes in hey im not getting 60fps with even my 2500 dollar laptop
I just got a xbox one and couldn't be happier. I still prefer PC to be honest, its just im tired of ports. First time I owned a console since The dreamcast days. miss shenmue and sonic.
overall textures look like they are set to ultra aa set to 2x and polygon count is very high so object detail set to high, i'd say the new consoles are a 9/10 at best and they are 30-60fps 1080p set to ultra/high compared to pc.
remember i'm a diehard pc gamer and this is my first console as an adult and do not see any point of argueing which is better as pc will eventually have an exclusive game that will look ten times maybe more better than anything the consoles could dream of creating. aka crysis 3 killer. so when that day comes the smart choice is an ultra thin med end gaming laptop and a xbox one or ps4. mho -
so 680m can handle ultra far cry 4 1080p without stuttering? can you post a vid

I had well over an hour of stutter free good performance at all max settings yesterday including ultra geometry but then my frames did crash. GPU hadn't throttled or overheated (966/1111mhz at max 63C) so perhaps the game still does have a few bugs. Also I do notice when driving there still is some stuttering. Flying (wingsuit, buzzer, glider) doesn't suffer from this stutter so I rarely drive.
Still early days I am sure at least another patch or two will come out eventually that will improve performance further and fix a few more issues including the stuttering. Best to be optimistic and not negative. -
The only thing I am sad is that I killed 7/10 dragons came to the very last mission (all on hard, ~70 hours played) on my f****ng old laptop, couldn't wait until the new one, the game is seriously awesome (with minor flaws, worst one being the tactical cam, just cannot use it). Btw anyone who wants to play DA:I, get a knight enchanter, OP to the point that Vivienne can SOLO lvl 21 dragon at HARD... (I am playing an assassin archer, not that it is less OP, can one shot most mob sneak + full draw, but it just cannot solo a dragon)
-
played my e3 trailer at 1080p or whatever and damn it looked good
played the actual game on my xbone and well wtheck was like gran turismo 5 for ps3 looked just as good
Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, or CoD: Advanced Warfare?
