Not sure how I feel about the trailer. I feel I liked the more "modern" feel of Far Cry 5 and this looks like it's closer to 4.

Still, it's going to be a Far Cry game and I'm sure it'll be awesome!

I have a feeling this is going to be better than farcry 3 as they have a bigger budget and the skills to do so...idea looks promising and the graphics are insane as this is one of the first next gen games

Honestly, I have a burn out after all these FC games. I played all except for New Dawn (or whatchamacallit) and prehistoric one.
FC3 was good, very good. Completed it two times. And liked its spin-off Blood Dragon. Played FC4, but didn't finish it, and finished FC5, but it felt too meh for me...
They just became too stale for my taste...

I think I need to revisit FC3, I think it's the only one I never got to finish. I did finish FC4 but wasn't as impressed as with FC5.

I tried to play New Dawn but I'm not a fan of how they changed things up. It's not actually "open world", well it is, but you can't fight even simple beasts out of your current skill range. Artificially increased play time tbh.

Yeah, it's the new Ubisoft's schtick - to have loot and light MMO elements in their games. Just like towers before that...

I generally like how FC4 refined gameplay (except for annoying eagles), but after playing FC3 it was not fresh enough. It would have been a good game if I hadn't played FC3 before. Same with FC5, but I finished it because...IDK...some reason...

FC3 is the best of the series it was fresh and it had a great story also installing Ziggy's mod made the game a whole lot better especially if you want a challenge.

FC4 was just ok, a lot of things annoyed me in that game especially the eagles and the endless notifications of events happening which are bland and boring. The story was a waste since you can beat it in 20 mins and its the best ending of the game.

FC5 i didnt finish it because it gotten too repetitive.

Hoping FC6 will have a good story at least. The game sounds better than FC5 after watching the videos so we'll see.

I have played them all since the beginning. FC3 was great for it's time, but FC4 felt so much more open and I loved flying the gyro in it. FC5 is my favorite and added planes and helos and a huge world, perhaps more familiar to me and even events that I could understand more. I hope FC6 takes everything from 5 and just adds a more to it.

Blood Dragon was a fun offshoot that I really enjoyed, growing up with the 80's action movies. The others were ok in their own ways, Primal was fun to play through once and was nice to have something totally different for once.

if it ain't broke don't fix it....I agree fc3 was great mainly because of the storyline...it's looking that way for far cry 6 based on the videos.

Their trailers have always looked impressive but the actual games had disappointing graphics.

I feel that the graphics have stagnated since far cry 4. Hopefully far cry 6 will look much better.

I really liked FC3 as well. I never finished Blood Dragon, did like it though.. that 80s vibe was pretty cool. I should put finishing Blood Dragon on my list..

I haven't bought any of the ones from FC4 onward. It's kind of like the AC series. Such a great concept but they released so many games that I just got burned out. I'm part way through Unity but I haven't been able to bring myself to get back to finishing it. So far behind in that series..

The one thing I find ironic...far cry 2 has better physics than far cry 3-5.. and possibly better graphics...I sure hope the next gen consoles push ports that really stretch what we call photorealism...and give our powerful systems a reason to exist

Personally I liked the first the best, it was among it's contemporaries quite the game even if it doesn't seem so now. I didn't do 5, played the rest. I can sandbox with the best of them but for some reason the FC series has never pulled me into a long stay, I usually play through and screw around somewhat on the side and then it's over. No way I get 100 plus into it like a do with some sandbox games. Never timed it but maybe 20ish on FC 4? Don't get me wrong as I enjoyed them well enough but they don't grab me and keep me playing. I'll play this one, no question, but am expecting the same.

I liked 1, 2,3 and primal since it was so different. I played through 4 which is good but was just too much of the same to me. 5 was just too much didn't finish. Going to skip this one. FC2 I recently reinstalled and it's pretty good especially for I think less than 10gb install size, needs reshade bc it's very colorless default.

a big part of a games lure is how good it looks...since its like replaying the same game 6 times you would think the graphics after 10 years would look better but they don't..its just not immersive....and this tends to be the trend with most games hence why i made the jump to vr

I'm not going to... and I'm a huge Far Cry fan.

Over the years I've learned (the hard way) that patience pays off. I have a few hundred $ worth of pre-orders which I would not have bought if I'd have seen actual reviews. With all companies nowadays turning towards a more greedy way instead of making an actual quality product, I'm not pre-ordering anything anymore.

I may pre-order as I've found each far cry game to keep getting better and better over the years.

FC2 was great with all the new stuff it brought, FC3 with the radio towers and the way you expanded the island exploration was awesome, FC4 introduced flying and FC5 had it all with great weapons, locations, hunting and item collecting. FC5 is my favorite by far and it's going to be difficult to beat. I think the familiar (USA) location and the modern feel of it with all the planes and stuff made it more fun for me.

I was really hoping Far Cry 6 would be sci-fi themed like Blood Dragon after seeing how Far Cry 5 was modern themed. I definitely won't be getting this game. I strongly dislike the retro art style in general.

I'm positively biased towards modern and sci-fi themed games since those are my preferences. Blood Dragon and Far Cry 5 are my favorites.

The trailer didn't get me excited about the plot at all, although the actor in the trailer is legendary (forgot his real name). I still like Far Cry 3 the best, I can't pinpoint exactly why. It feels like the series has been stale ever since as the engine never changed, nor have the in-game core mechanics, etc. On the flip-side, FC3 Blood Dragon was an unpredictable breath of fresh air.

Far Cry 6 looks interesting and fun! However, some of the elements remind me of Just Cause 3.

Nowadays, why people love to promote “female protagonist” for their games?

I haven't been preordering for years for the reasons mentioned but also because I expect to get the full game when I pay the full price and that's becoming more and more rare. Now I wait until all the dlc is done dropping and then I buy the full game at half the the price I would have happily paid on day one for the whole game. But hey; they're the smart people...

As to Fry Cry; didn't finish most of them. There is that magic something that keeps me playing missing in the series. It seems I'm not the only one.

Looks like same ol' Far Cry 3 with a slab of new paint.
Additions to gameplay look nice in the trailer, but I doubt it will be anything game changing. Played 3, 4 and 5, and all of them felt the same.
No doubt fans of the series will like 6, but the rest won't know the difference.

Maybe game will let you choose who you want to play, like most of the Ubi games do these days.
Regardless, who cares who you play as, especially in a FPS game.

The best time to get a far cry game is on a sale right before or after the newest one comes out. There's a really steep discount. :D

Thanks for letting us know. I've really been wanting to play the 5th game, but being the hermit I am, I won't pay more than $20 for a single game, and most of the time wait until the price goes down to under $15.

Good things come to those who wait, although you can't wait too late of course or you get nothing.

Lol, I think that was really a pay it forward: I've been made aware of so many sales here and while I only bought into a fraction of them I appreciated every heads up I got.

People who think forums suck have clearly never garnered a huge break on games they ended up loving that they never would have bought unless they were clued into a sale.
