I have a 8600m GT
And I'm using the GPU driver 177.39 (My favourite driver so far; it boosted my tf2 perf by 10 fps). Could it possibly be the driver?
How about the 180.XX driver I read. Is that compatible with my Mobile GPU?
Thanks!

That first one looks creepy...

Those look like artifacts. Check your temperatures/vents(NBR cooling central) and try updated drivers(trial and error). If you are overclocking your GPU, undo those changes and also ATItool(works for NV cards) can check for artifacts.

You can try driver versions 177.92, 177.98, 178.15 or 179.13. I haven't tried the 180.xx drivers yet myself but all the ones I listed have worked well for me, despite the similar generation but different GPU difference between us.

180.42 best driver so far for my 8600m GT.
i am up to 3922 point (3D Mark) on 1280 x 800 and 3 Celsius down on GPU Temp.
No overclocking
Cant ask for more.
Get it on

That gleam happened to me before but not in that game.

I'm hearing mixed reviews about the 180.42 drivers. I suppose I should just test them for myself.

I tried one of the 180.XX drivers, but they had less overclocking tolerance than the 177.92 drivers, so I went back to 177.92.
