I tried searching...but no go.
I just bought an Inspiron 9400 with 7900GS, installed Far Cry, and it looks and runs great at WUXGA resolution. Whenever I increase the "Water Quality" to anything higher than Medium, the water looks like one piece of mesh, and the colour is all messed up. I dont have internet yet at my place, so I can't post a screenshot. I have the latest drivers off the nvidia website, but when I install them, Windows says that they are not certified (doesn't really matter, but thought I'd throw it in for more info).
Anyone have any suggestions, or know if Far cry has an issue with this?

I used to have the e1705 with 7800. I know what you're talking about. You also get some "dark patches" in the forest too right? You can get rid of this problem by just backing off some of the detail settings a little. Far Cry is a very demanding game--even if it's older.

Garret92,
The water problem you are talking about is a known issue, I had the same thing on my desktop and my laptop. Update the game patch to 1.33 and you can do it from official farcry site but remember to download every single patch individually and install them so 1.1,1.2. then 1.3 and that will enable you to set aa at 6x and af at 8x and water issue goes away..

Hey,
Farcry definately is a demanding game but with my x700 on my lappy i can push it at max no aa and af, but with my x1900xtx and x1900xt on crossfire mode I can max it out with aa and af and high res.

thanks guys, appreciate it

I know that pulling back on some of the "ultra" settings got rid of it though... -
That's weird, though. Far Cry isn't that demanding... It even plays well on integrated graphics. With an X850 Pro I can play with all maxed including AA/AF. But as for patches, yes, do make sure you apply one first, then the other, and so on.

Wow! Integrated graphics? Really?
I guess I have to take the word of the guy who has Jack Carver (sic) as his avatar and on his blog.

LoL yes.
FC plays at 1280x800 with everything low and no filters on an ATi Xpress 200m (AMD 3200+, 512Mb RAM). It looks beautiful and I get peaks of 55 fps (down to 25-30 in crowded scenes).
